We were thinking of trying Raglan Road on Saturday, May 3. The night we get there. Anyone want to join us? I know Sam and Irene like beer! And you guys can at least talk about scuba.

MAY 3!!!! I'm still trying to figure out if we're going to manage to meet up with some friends at Universal this weekend... I think somewhere along the way, I've lost my super-psychotic pre-planning knack.

Oh well... DTD might be a great idea for Christopher's b-day (May 1).

Normally I would be all for it...but as we are taking the Magic through the Panama Canal on the 10th, perhaps this will be to close to our departure date....but May is a long way away.....

Does that mean you might be around for dinner?

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 I still can't commit to my lunch meeting today at 1PM... so, for now, I'd say... um... no.

I just can't believe how bad I've gotten about planning things!!! 90% of my job revolves around planning special events, which are ALWAYS planned 'to the letter' yet, when it comes to my personal stuff, it seems I just can't get it together lately!!!! I REALLY need a vacation!!

OK

HERE IT IS....

KIKI'S VACATION....

Hi all, it has been a while since I have been able to get here to check on things. It has been so crazy. We have Dale's senior photos back and I think they came out pretty good. Once I get home I will have to try and post some of them.

Ashley and I are in Corpus Christi for the weekend for the Texas All-Star Swim Meet. I don't think she has a shot of placing in top 10 because she just aged into the new age group in September, but we are at least hoping for best times. We got here late last night, so I havne't seen anything yet. This is my first trip to Corpus.

We found out that Dale's HS graduation is going to be on Sunday, June 8 (?? -- i think that is the date), so now we can hopefully make plans for DL the next weekend. Stacey - any new plans on that?

Well, have to run so I can leave to drive over to the pool in a bit. Will post later how things are going here.

We made our DL reservations for Sun-Wed, the next weekend. :cool1:

It's been a busy week with the kids activities. Maggie is the only one with weekend plans, she's heading to Rice University to attend their lacrosse camp with a few of her teammates, today and tomorrow. She'll go back next weekend too.

It's the calm before the storm - we'll have 3 middle school girls here to carpool, within the next 15 minutes. I gave Mike plenty of warning to change out of his pj's - I couldn't be that mean...:lmao:

I hope all who are recovering from surgery are doing well!

Posting on the fly....

I got home late Thursday night. Did absolutely NOTHING yesterday. I guess I was pooped out.

Finally went through the pile of mail waiting for me this morning and unpacked. I have some clothes yet to hang up, but had to sit for a minute. Haven't gotten around to my e-mail yet....need to go to the grocery store eventually. Either that, or send Jay and Jared to do it when they get home.
Jared is performing with his Select Chorus group at a grand opening of a nearby Wells Fargo Bank branch. The bank offered the music department $1000 for the kids to come sing half the day, and of course, the music teacher jumped on it!

Anywho....it's good to be home. The quiet at my parents' has some advantages, but it's better being with my own family.

Diana....GREAT pic of Alicia!! Maybe she should just be locked in her room until she's...oh, say...30!?

Big news at our house....Today Matt and I ran in a local 5K. For the past few he has beaten me by a second or two.

Today I set the family record and beat him by 1 minute. I'm making him walk around the house saying "You are the man".

The fun part for him tho was driving home, pulling up to a stop sign, and making me get out of the car and run the rest of the way home. I wish he would have kicked me out of the car closer then 20 miles from home. It was a long run.

There are only two places in the world that could get Sharon out of bed at 4:30 am to run a 10K. Matt saw her do it at Disney Race for the Taste. I get to see her do it tomorrow morning for the 10K at Celebration.

Hey all. The weather is great here in Corpus Christi. I can't believe how warm and humid it is for the middle of November.

The swim meet went very well today. Ashley has had a rough fall swimming and I was a little worried going into this meet how she would do. Well, she did great. She cut over 2 seconds on the 200 breast and got a AA time in her new age group and placed 9th. She cut 4 seconds on the 200 backstroke, got the A time and placed 12th. She then cut 10 seconds on the 400 IM and got the A time and placed 9th. We are hoping for a good day tomorrow. She will swim the 200 IM and the 100 Breast.

We have had a good time here this weekend, but really haven't had an opportunity to do too much. Tomorrow is only 1 session and when the kids are done, they are planning on taking them to a beach for a couple of hours before driving them back to San Antonio to catch their flight from there. Several of us parents are on the same flight back to EL paso directly from Corpus and we leave about 5:40 tomorrow night. Looking forward to getting back home.

Dale has officially received his first college acceptance letter from Baylor University and an initial scholarship offer of $40k. Of course, he will need a lot more from that university for us to be able to afford. Housing and tuition come out to about $32K per year.

Oh well, it is getting late here and I want to head up for some light reading before bed.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Pam, CONGRATS to Ashley and to Dale!!

We'll be at Disneyland from June 15 (when we get off the ship) to the late afternoon of the 18th.

Jim, congrats to you, too! And Matt. I hope Sharon had a good run this morning.

Stacey - thank you for posting the wonderful tribute to All Our Veterns.

We were at WDW yesterday for the Finale of Food and Wine and attended the 9:00 service at the Shrine. Father call on all the Veterns to stand and receive a blessing.....during a round of applause and the Choir singing. They were handed Archangel Michael medals, and Father had only brough 200....we had more than 250 present....It was a very moving Service, especially after the Battle Hymne of the Republic.

WOW.

And as for November 11th, - a pause at 11 - after 11 on the 11th day of teh 11th month - the tradition in England and my family. To remember...

I told the kids they should bow down to their father, and do like Matt and say "You're the MAN"......they basically looked at me as if I were nutso. But Jay got a smile out of it.

T.O.P. with gaRry, Jay and the USMC!

Headed off to therapy......I'm excited to show my therapist all the new tricks I've learned since I was in Omaha. Lot more motion in my ankle, I can almost walk like a normal person...... Now to just build up my stamina!

Jay & I went to the grocery store for BIG shopping yesterday. By the time we got to the check-out, I thought I was going to die.

Apparently while I was gone, plans were made for US to have a big Thanksgiving at our house. All I know is that there had better be a LOT of helpers cleaning the house beforehand, helping in the kitchen, and cleaning up after. I think we're up to 14 people so far. thankyouverymuch.

Hello all. Ashley and I got back in late last night from Corpus Christi. I am dying today because I am so tired.

She ended the weekend on a great note by dropping time in all 5 events she swam. She ended up placing 7th in the 100 Breast yesterday. She swam against the best kids in the state, so I am very proud of her. She also dropped time in the 200 IM, but I never saw what place she came in (not in top 10). Now we have a few days to recover before another meet on Saturday and Sunday and then after that there is only 1 more before the end of December. The training will intensify over Christmas when they have 11 days straight of training and it is called "Hell Week".

Well, gotta run
