My sister just emailed and said that DeLand had some pretty extensive damage. Does Jim or Kiki work there? It seems that I remember that coming up on "conversation".

Kiki works there, but I don't think the damage is in her area. We would have heard if the Beer Company was hit.

No damage at our houses.

Deadly storms in Florida - Yikes! I've been out of touch (with reality!) all day. I'm going to have to watch the news this evening. Relieved to hear everyone's OK here.

Oh man, so sorry to hear about those in Florida. I was in jury duty all day today and didn't hear any news. Have to be at work all day tomorrow, so I will be so glad when this week is over. Only 5 more weeks and we will be at WDW, and I am so glad. I really need a vacation. My boss that I love dearly announced last week that he was going on an interview in Kansas next week and it has just made me sick. I really don't want him to go.

Dropped Mike off at church this evening, they are heading up north of Houston on a Jr. High retreat. The chaperoning parents deserve a medal...

Then Maggie had a special night with mom and dad - we went to the jewelry store so she could get her charm put on her bracelet and then headed to the mall. Friday night at the mall...I think I deserve a medal... I haven't been in the mall in a long time. Dad went into Gap but, he drew the line at Claire's, Libby Lu, and Build-A-Bear - waiting outside

Doing double duty today...making up for the days when I couldn't disconnect myself from the telephone that never rang!

Went to the wrist doctor....more therapy and not out of the brace yet..this is getting really old.

Went to the knee doctor. The chicken shots helped quite a bit. Maybe not as much as I was hoping for, but pretty good. We can repeat them in a year, try a different type of injection, or have a knee replacement. He says I don't have enough of anything left in there to do arthroscopic surgery. Goodie.

Ran a bunch of errands, came home just in time to get the kids, went to the store and have been baking cupcakes for Bill's birthday. So I think I'll sit down now!

Up late last night - Maggie and the dog piled on our bed and we watched Princess Bride Hope everyone has a good day. With Mike gone, that eliminates a ton of running today. He had two basketball games scheduled for today.

Yes, I work there. The tornado hit about 4 miles from my office. I am in Miami, but have been on the phone and e-mail constantly, working on getting emergency drinking water delivered to the area.

The Fire chief called us first thing yesterday AM, requesting the use of our refrigerated trailers for the command center/supply distribution site, and to get drinking water, as he knows that we have coordinated all that in the past hurricanes, wildfires, etc.

Never a dull moment. It was kind of surreal working a huge event in South Beach, while trying to coordinate disaster supplies 200 miles away... just seems crazy. Its amazing that more people weren't hurt.

We watched a show about Anheiser Busch the other day, the making of the beer, etc. It's kind of neat to think that I know someone who works for them. Okay, so I'm a little weird, but you already knew that.
It IS really cool that the company does that for people in need. A lot quicker response from Bud than the government, I'd say.

Kiki, yay for your company! Kevin and I were talking the other night, you seem to have a very interesting job. It's really nice to love what you do, and you seem to.

More bad news this morning, all the articles about climate change. Our part of the country (Southwest, NM to CA) is supposed to get warmer, and our drought will get worse. More wildfires. The South is supposed to dry up too, that's hard to believe. I guess there will be no such thing as a place to live with a "nice climate". Whether you believe it or not, looks like it's changing. The scientists do sometimes know what they are talking about.

Just pretty hard for me to fathom when right now is 15 with wind chills below zero. And Monday's HIGH is supposed to be SIX degrees!!! YIKES!

It was so windy today it blew our flag pole over. Yup, just bent at the base and now it's laying on the ground!!!
