Monica, might as well use that sibling rivalry when you can. Wow, that's a late school start. Are they done in time to go to DL?

First day of school is Aug. 16, for some it's Aug. 14. Don't know why Alicia's school is delayed, she usually finishes earlier too. I think her school day is a little longer than most.

They're out on June 4 - no worries!! We'll be there!!! For anyone interested, the DL resort podcast is about Fantasmic...

It used to be that we started around the end of August....the 20-something.
Last year, we all thought it was too early when they started on the 16th or 17th.....
And now....the NINTH?? That's just crazy. But I think their last day is still the 23rd...same as always. SO they added a week and a half, just so that they can have more half days and "teacher in service" days...whatever those are.

When I pulled into the high school today to get Jordan withdrawn and have her transcripts sent, I was so glad that I wouldn't be going back there again until next year, when Jared starts there. Nothing against the high school, just that I'm tired of having kids in two (or three) different schools for the last 12 years.

My turn to ask for prayers for a friend. The HR director at my work that I'm very close to lost her 22 year old son this past weekend. We haven't heard the cause yet but since we heard he was found dead on Sunday morning we can't help but think drugs or alcohol were involved. Needless to say she is devastated. Please keep Jean and the rest of her family in your prayers.

I honked at you when you were running on Airport Road yesterday morning... does that count as a meet? After all, its STILL more than I've seen my family this week, with it being the first week of football and cheer practice!

It was a great dive weekend. To bad it had to end so soon.

Hey... I can wave like that too!! That's why my truck has a sunroof!!! Actually, I probably DIDN'T actually honk... my horn on this truck isn't where I think it should be... so most of the time, I'm just banging on the steering wheel... by the time I actually get a 'honk' to come out, I'm long gone!!!! So if you see the "Landshark-mobile" drive by you with some crazy woman beating on the steering wheel... that's me.

He's home, already in bed. Minus one bag of dive gear. We're two bags short for two trips this week. Mine showed up, hopefully his will too. He told me about your "people picture".

She's home schooling. It's actually called "Distance Learning". But it's fully accredited and an actual diploma, not a GED. And she's doing the "academic program" to prepare for college.
Home schoolers are allowed to participate in school activities, so she gets to stay on the dance team.

Be careful who you talk to. Some militant homeschoolers will blast you for referring to this as "home schooling." Sounds like this is a virtual school or "public school at home." Militant homeschoolers will tell you that you're undermining the homeschool movement...blah blah blah.

I look at it like this.....you're doing what's right for Jordan right now. However that gets done, great! Good for you!!!!!!!

As my lovely bride mentioned, I did make it. The dive gear did not, at least on the same plane I did. They promised delivery today.......

Yes, we did have a GREAT time!! Diving was terrific, diving with friends priceless!! Should have seen the big Permits swimming off the side of the USS Duane, and the school of Barracuda above the main tower array!!! Just Awesome!!! Uh Irene??

Funny, though....when I went to the high school to withdraw her, I told the counselor that she would be doing Distance Learning from home...and she gave me this really confused look so I said "Home School"....and she goes "Ohhhh"
