All this talk of CA makes me really want a vacation!!! Ray is headed out there for a week for the race in Fontana, but the rest of us will be here for school, work, football, cheerleading, and everything else that goes on.

Gosh I don't know why I haven't been keeping up with this thread. I guess having a hard time keeping up with the other thread but I really need to keep up with this thread. It's like "going home" or something whenever I come back and start reading this thread. Familiar faces and all that. I promise to remember to drop by more often! If y'all still have me.

Monica, your family is in my prayers. I'm so sorry. I've been thru that as a relative also (my nephew... my sister) and it's so hard on everyone in the family.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing good and has had a great summer! I havent been around much as we have had a busy few months. In April,We decided it was finally time to sell our house, we listed it and got an offer 10 days later! After we accepted the offer on May2nd, we had to agree to closing in the 30th, we had to fins a house, pack our belongings and take our year long planned 2 week vacation to WDW!! It has been busy busy around here! We are getting settled in, we have a pool now and we love love love it!I dont spend nearly as much time on the PC as I used to!

I am still in recovery mode. Very tired the last couple of days. Attended a wedding yesterday, it was very nice. It was Alicia's studio owner, they are honeymooning at WDW, arriving today. The forecast is record breaking heat, how lucky is that? Well, I hope they take my advice and tour early and late, and enjoy the pool mid-day. They are staying at BCV, so they have a nice pool at least.

No lazy Sunday though. Alicia is at work all day, and I've got Ebay stuff to do. Kevin gets back tomorrow night, brief reports say the diving was good.

We're still hoping to celebrate my parents 50th with a cruise next June... but we'll have to wait to find out my niece's graduation date before we can make any real plans. Also, with my mom's recent illness, she is now claiming that she doesn't want to do anything next year for their anniversary... I think she's just depressed and once she feels better she'll snap out of it.

Morning All - Weekend was great - diving was greater....wheee.....still in recovery mode I think. Will stop swaying and post more later. We still have to see Sam's photo shots, but I am on the road today....

Was up and booked our Food and Wine events....apparently I was very lucky to get through. Much earlier than last year. There were 322 numbers between my first and 4th booked event.

Whew!!!!!

Back to work today.

We went up to Cleveland. Then Mike continued on to Canada for the annual fishing trip. Fishing was bad. 6 fish for 4 guys! And the lake was choppy. Ick. Mike got back to my parent's house around 8:30 and we left for home around 9. He snored the whole way home.

Now we're back to "regular" life. Whatever that is!

Hi All, we are back from Houston. As Monica said, lots of rain. Unfortunately, I did not get to meet up with Monica, as I hurt my back the first day I was in Houston. Ended up in the Emergency Room and then spent the remainder of the week in the hotel. Was not even able to go and watch Ashley swim except for 1 day. She did not have a good meet. ONly had 1 best time out of 6. I think she was just too exhausted. This summer was grueling for swimming. We now have 3 weeks off before she starts back up again.

I have a doctor's apointment this afternoon as I still am not mobile with my back. They are going to want to get rid of me from work if I am not back soon

Progress is being made on our mess...John painted the family room this weekend and began construction on the cabinets. He's thankful for slave labor, Mike helped haul wood. A young back and muscles make all the difference...

In what has become a tradition, tonight begins another round of "Battle of the Ice Cream" Otherwise, known to the rest of the baseball world - Cubs vs Astros series Losing fans (Mike and John... ) buy the ice cream... We've got tickets for tonight's game, but for some reason, the family room construction takes precedence over the rest of the series

Gosh, I guess I am predictable aren't I. yes, we did PFTS on the 27th and booked our Anniversary events as well for the first week in October.

The events were tempting, but the prices were not, so I booked 2 Food and Wine Pairings. I was on the phone at 7:00 exact and done by 7:15...last year, I was on hold until 7:45 and then they cut me off...pooh....It seems this year the same thing happened by some of the folks posting on the Food and Wine thread.

Between my first reservation number and the last (#4) there were 322 other numbers.....wow - that is moving fast.

I hear some of the events are already sold out.

But we like to walk around and taste the booth offerings, and need more than one weekend to do so....Looking forward to October, that is for sure...

Wanna trade? thanks to our wonderful state legislature, school won't start until August 27...

The kids asked to go to the pool. I'm willing to take the kids, but they have to clean their rooms and Mike has to practice. They aren't too motivated - they're watching Family Feud... I'm determined not to nag or yell, they know what has to be done first...
