So Virgil....why did you give up the iPhone?

It had more to do with the timing than anything. I ended up getting Frances an iPhone too - she loves it - and can work it which is a miracle unto itself. Lauren needed a new phone - and I need to hang on to my Blackberry until the end of August as it's attached to my current company's network. I'll consider it then - or wait until iPhone 2.0. We really do love th iPhones tho, Lauren and Frances absolutely love theirs.

Good news or bad news....it does not matter. We are going to be in Key Largo for the weekend. That is enough good news for me!!!!

Speaking of DIS meets just had a mini one with an old 10 day cruiser. Diana I think you know her best - Karyn (aka Kabuli). She was going to go on the 10 day and then cancelled and moved to the SW. She's back in Chicago and went to the new DVC Doorway to Dreams store opening we were at.

Here's an update from my friend's blog on her husband, Lars...

Lars remains in ICU. He has been in a significant amount of pain from the surgery due to the large midline incision that was required to remove the kidneys, as well as the manipulation of the internal organs. The internal organs will begin to shift now that the kidneys are not taking up all of the space in the body cavity. An ultrasound yesterday showed that everything appears to be healing as it should. There is no sign of infection so far. Lars continues to undergo dialysis. He required a blood transfusion this morning because his hemoglobin was quite low. Words can never express how much Lars, Barb, Bill, and I appreciate all of your thoughts, good wishes, and prayers. We feel so grateful and blessed to have such wonderful caring friends!!!! Hang in there with us.

I know y'all have pixie dust and prayers to spare, this time I'm asking for my brother Brian and his wife, Mariela who is pregnant and due in December, they just found out last week that the baby is a boy...

Mariela had some problems Tuesday morning. Her water bag started coming out. Ambulance took her to West Suburban Hospital and now she is at NWestern. The bag has gone back in. Hopefully they will be able to stitch it in and everything will be okay. Baby appears to be okay from ultrasound. However if water breaks, then baby will come too soon and won't survive. If they can keep the bag in place and no infection sets in, then everything should also be okay.

At last night's update from my mother, she said things didn't look good and Mariela was sedated.

Please keep Brian, Mariela, Matt (5) and the baby in your prayers. If you could offer up an extra one for my mother, please do. I was a premie at 2' 10" and about 2 1/2 months early, so I'm sure she is also beside herself with worry...

I honked at you when you were running on Airport Road yesterday morning... does that count as a meet? After all, its STILL more than I've seen my family this week, with it being the first week of football and cheer practice!

I just got a call from my mother.

The baby was born early this morning and lived for about three hours. They were able to spend time with the baby. Please continue to pray for their emotional healing.

My parents are offering to fly Mariela's mother to the states from Guatemala, please pray for travel safety for her, too...

Jared and I are home. Barely. It took a lot of work for Jay and our neighbor (who has a small tractor) to just clear one small path in the creek. We have a lot of roads torn up from the storms we'd gotten here. There's a mountain of mud, rocks, tree branches, etc along the creek. Guess I'm glad I wasn't here to see those storms!
