Aw shucks! Thanks for the wishes. I get my dinner and movie tonight, but I'm refusing to get older. If I don't get any presents today, the birthday doesn't count, right?

Yes, we agreed, no birthday presents this year. Way too many other things we've got to pay for right now. Who needs more baubles anyway? Now, a cruise, that might work.

Now STOP it!!! :scared1:

hee hee

So Alicia drove home with her parking brake on today, 6 miles. Is that like a rite of passage for teens driving on their own for the first time? I think I did it too. Of course, she was wondering why her car was even pokier than usual.

I still do it when I drive John's car - his is a step-on release so, half the time I don't realize it's on...I usually catch it before I'm out of the parking lot though...

You didn't excuse Alicia from school to get her hair, nails and make-up done :scared1: First, she has to clean her room and then she has to stay in school the entire day...You win the mean mom award!!! ;)

(I think that's why our district went to Saturday proms - no skipping school on prom day...)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DIANA!!!

Hope it was a good one!

I do that all the time. Well, at least after Jay has driven it. He always puts the parking brake on in the driveway, and I never do. :sad2:

Parking brake story ...

My manager & I went to CA for business one week. He forgot the parking brake on from Sunnyvale to Palo Alto. I'm not sure how many miles that was but we were on the interstate. By the time we got to the office, the car was smoking! :scared1:

I don't think anyone in Louisiana ever used a parking brake on a car ... just too flat. Neither Bruce not I use one now unless we're on an incline.

It's CINCO de MAYO

You know what that means for us in Arizona?? We stay home tonight!:rolleyes1

Yes, good night to stay home in NM too. We saw enough crowds last night. Haven't been downtown much, they weren't kidding about "revitalizing" it.

Alicia's dance was downtown, so we dropped her off and had dinner. Then we really thought we could get in to see Spiderman at the theater downtown, we have always been able to see movies on the first day there before. Nope, it was not to be. We went to see "Lucky You" instead. Warning, do NOT go see that movie unless you are one of those people that watches poker on TV.

AND DARE WE ASK WHAT YOU 2 WILL BE DOING ???????????????????

HUG HUG ????? ??????

gaRRy

Yeah, right. :sad2:

Turns out, we're going to a friend's house for dinner. They live just up the mountain from us. We hadn't done much with them in a long time, but she called and asked if I wanted to come over this afternoon (which I did) because she has her little grandson with her. He's really getting to a cute age, just turned one.
So then she asked us to come back tonight for dinner. Heading to the store to get stuff to make brownies.

PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS TO THOSE IN KANSAS!
:grouphug:

Good Morning All - a quick post before we leave for church....I have not read the latest posts, but I know I need to wish Diana a Happy Birthday weekend....and a great Cinquo de Mayo....We celebrated yesterday with Cornonos and a Chipp and Dale May 5th pin, after a great DIVE....Seas were flat 1-2...and I tested out the new fins....Jury still out on them...will take both pairs on the Necton cruise.

We dove the wreck Misspell Corridor....It was alive with fish, nothing large, or special. Some folk saw turtle but I did not. I did have a friendly baracuda decide I was fun to swim with and on the other extreme some tiny cleaner blue shrimp....I was good on air management, no camera.....and very, very heavy current.

The second dive was Toy Box and Play Pen near the inlet...Toy Box sometimes has large grouper, shark, rays, but today, next to nothing, perhaps because of heavy, heavy current. Proud of myself that I manged without sucking air, but did get stung, not fire corral, all better now.

A swim to the play pen which I really want to go back to and spend more time there...It is a deposit of culverts, concrete, tires and stuff and there are all sorts of things living there. I spotted the smallest spotted morray ever and many schools of the tiny fish (Kevin, more later when I grab the fish book). Sam's camera had broken a latch so we are pictureless.

Had a few problems with the BC...Sam had re-arranged it (yeah, thanks) so it is now back to normal....Swimming with the tank on the left is rather different, due to strap issues. Of courese, when he asked what was wrong, I wrote on the slate, My CD is acting up....(OK now that makes sense at 60 feet right????)

On our way to church and then to Mother's. Her present this year is a day of heavy house cleaning. Our reward will be her smiling face, and a trip to the Irish Pub for dinner.......

LAter all...

Can I come? I earned it. Today I rode my first Century. 100 miles on the bike. Had a great time. They had to reroute it because of the fires in Flagler. I think the re-route made it a better ride.

I even remembered to pack a beer in a cooler so it would be there after the long ride. I just forgot to pack a car key to get the beer.

Matt had to drive up with a set of keys. I guess that makes us even for the time he ran out of gas. :lmao:

Sounds like fun! Ahh, mother nature!! Sometimes you're in the right spot and sometimes you're not.

Hope you get your cameras back on line soon!!

It was fun, and beautifully calm, sat back and waited for the boat to pick us up, both times we surfaced with the dive master, proud of myself I am, and the seas were so calm....ahhhhhhh.......

Camera all fixed, it was a broken bracket or something, but all ready for the Necton...

Time to start packing, now where was that list again?
