Well, our county's 2008 school calendar is on-line now. For us, Friday June 6 is posted as the kids last day of school. We will have to see how that works with this groups plans. It's Matt's graduation year, so that may add additional complications to our plans.

No '08 calendar for us yet. But I know we're always out before the first of June, so unless they pull a fast one on us, we'll be good. That would have been Jordan's graduation year...but we held her back once, so now it's '09. But I think it would make a SPLENDID graduation present!!

See if Matt agrees with me on that. I doubt it.

Been sitting here thinking of Mark and Mary and the others. Their "Wonder"ful cruise is at an end. The waiting seems forever, and the trip goes sooo fast!

Guess I pulled a "Jim" and stirred the pot on their trip report thread. I had said that I thought it was pretty special that they got so many nice gifts from DVC and DCL....that they must be very valuable to Disney.....but someone was quick to point out that they paid a TON in points to be there, blah blah blah.......

We all paid a ton to be on our special cruises. The Double Scoop, the 10 Night Christmas, the11 Night.......but still were lucky to get one pin or a t-shirt (that we had to buy). I still think the DVC Members are valuable to Disney, no matter what that other person thinks.

And if Mark and Mary aren't special and valuable to Disney, then they are to ME!

What would you think if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me.
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song,
And I'll try not to sing out of key.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Mmm I get high with a little help from my friends,
Mmm I'm gonna to try with a little help from my friends.

I just happened to read that part too - I don't think you were stirring the pot - they did get unique gifts which aren't regularly given to guests. Disney could have just stuck with the totebag or beach towel but, instead chose to say "thank you" with the extras for their DVC members...Not that us non-DVC members aren't just as loyal and deserving...

Did they have to book with points for this cruise?

No. You could do points, you could do cash, or you could do a combo of the two (i.e. adults with points, kids with cash)

And it was more, cost wise, than a regular 4 day cruise, but keep in mind the TIPS WERE INCLUDED! :)

Jim, how was your trip to Ohio? I'll tell you, the day came and went so fast for me. Just today I remembered you'd be in town. Was the weather nice for you? Cold, but no rain, if I remember correctly. :)

I should have clarified....I wasn't trying to stir anything up. I was serious when I thought Disney was letting the Members know they were appreciated, by giving them such great gifts.

I'm holding up alright. Of course, I'm sleeping in and getting nothing done around the house, but oh well. Kids aren't getting their full schedules of school in either. Amazing what tech week does to the rest of your life! :)

Opening night is officially tomorrow, yes. Tonight is final dress rehearsal and the director wants an audience.....so anyone who wants to come and watch the show FOR FREE is invited! :) He also invited some group of homeless kids from the shelter--apparently they do that with every final dress rehearsal, otherwise these kids never see plays.

The author will also be there tonight. :)

What a great idea for the director to invite the kids!!!!!!

Hope the dress rehearsal was (let me think) - BAD......isn't that the correct tradition - bad dress rehearsals - good opening night?????

OHMinnie, Nick's hair looked pink in the picture. Is it really that pink? How does he like it. Good luck with all of the rehearsals & opening night.

Stacey, have you started your chicken injections yet?

Mark & Mary, hope you had a great cruise!

The painters came out to the house yesterday to pressure wash. I was totally shocked when I got home yesterday afternoon to find them painting already. That just doesn't seem right. The company has a 5 year guarantee so if we have problems we'll be calling them. I never got around to taking a "before" shot of the house but have some older pictures around somewhere. Yesterday afternoon they were working on the front of the house. They got the door & shutters painted, stucco acents & all trim around the windows. My house looks totally different now.

I know you weren't trying - I agree with your reasoning, too!

Gee, I don't think I heard that one before. Well, if some dropped lines mean "bad" then it went horribly! :) The author was there....and the director said she'll probably want to make some changes!! AT THIS STAGE? Hello??? This is all in muscle memory for these people. You can't change it now!! He'll tell everyone tonight, right before the show, what needs to be changed :earseek:

The homeless kids were perfectly behaved. For a group of twelve kids it was amazing. I kinda cringed when they sat in the two rows in front of us. But you'd never have known they were there!!! But they left at intermission b/c it ws 8:45 and the bus was waiting to take them...somewhere. That's really sad. They didn't even get to see how the story ended. :(

No. Now it's more purple because they put it on three times as thick!!! :earseek: :earseek:

He loves every part of this. The other kids in the cast (and the adults) have really taken him under their wings and are so good to him. :)

U TOP!!!

pdfg pixiedust: and for anyone who needs it!

Good morning from NY. It's really Chilly up here. Frost on the pumpkin and everything. I love the winter, the only bad thing...coats, hats, gloves for the kids. That's a good thing for summer. Just get dressed in shorts & T-shirts and out the door you go.

Happy Belated Birthday to Ashley & Mike!!!! Sorry I missed them formally!!! Hope you both enjoyed your days.

Let's see....what else.

Congrats to M&M - that's awesome. We have our timeshare through Interval, a 2-bdrm. You're going to love it. You're best bet is to stay at a 5-star resort. That's what's compairable to Disney's Vero Beach resort. Let us know what you decide.

I guess I better get back to my housework, chores, etc. Have a great day everyone.

Oh, BTW - NICK, LOVE THE HAIR DUDE!!! I'll show the boys. Break a leg.....

Spent yesterday sick in bed... which is totally unlike me. I pretty much have to be dead not to go to work. My kids shared their cold germs with me, and I can't remember the last time that a cold actually kept me down. Slept til noon, ate some lunch (breakfast?) then slept a few more hours. Of course, that meant I was wide awake (and coughing) at 3AM, cause I just couldn't do one more night of Ny-Quil. So now I'm tired again, and back to work.

Happy b-day to all the b-days that I have missed!

Hey Nick- nice hair... break a leg tonight!!! (Not the GarRy or Stacey version of 'break a leg', though...)

Maria - Are you guys still contemplating a Dec. trip to FL???

Hi everyone.

Sure wish we knew what we were doing with school schedules and graduation schedules. Unfortunately, our school usually does graduation after school lets out, so we have no clue when Dale's h.s. graduation will be. I guess it is a blessing in a way that they haven't come out with the schedules from DCL, that way I have more time to find out what will happen with our calendar first.

Good luck NICK!!!!!!!

Well, gotta go for now. take care all.
