I have been waiting for this county......Although Japan is also around year round, I tried the Noodle Salad....oh my yummiest!!!! and it pairs with sparkling sake....oh perfection, yum, yum...

Let's try this in English - the noodle salad is chilled, with small slices of cucumber, a nice garnish of seaweed salad, and several bit size shrimp over a pasta type noodle base with a slightly spicey soy sauce. As for the sparkling sake, it is deviously deceptice. It is so refreashing, bubbley, light and tingly, but high in alchoicl.

I could park by this kiosk and gorge. While we were with Jim and Sharon, we introduced Jim to the Sake Bar inside Japan. A wonderful way to experience and taste Sake and it is there all year. Plus, you meet the most interesting people.

Mary - with the delay at the weekend, I am not sure if I will make it all around the world before you get there.......

Japan
Spicy Tuna Roll
Tokyo Sushi Roll with Crabmeat
Japanese Noodle Salad with Shrimp
Ozeki Dry Sake
Gekkeikan Zipang Sparkling Sake
Takara Plum Wine
Kirin Ichiban Draft Beer

This is another one that sounds really good to me, the picky eater. Yum.

During my closet-cleaning, I came across a DCL litho. It's of Snow White and her prince on the bow of the ship. We already have one framed, and hanging.

Anybody want this litho? I can mail it in a tube. Right now, it's flat in a big envelope, in perfect shape.

First response wins. :goodvibes

Hi all, I just wanted to thank you for the prayers and PD over the last 18 months. My dad died this afternoon. My mom was at his side. I was enroute home from New Orleans (sorry meant to post from there....it was a boring meeting - and boy does NO have a long way to go).

I like your junk better than mine. I have two bags of outgrown ski clothes from when we lived in Canada and two garbage bags full of outdated aquatic training manuals and I'm still not done. But, the good news is, I found our wedding pictures. As soon as I can figure out how to scan and put them on-line I will post one.

Over the past few years my mom is cleaning out and getting rid of stuff from their house. She would like to downsize but, the way housing prices are in Chicago, they've decided to stay put for the time being. Every time they visit a suitcase is full of childhood treasures. They drove down this summer and I got boxes and boxes of preschool artwork, Elementary school papers, swim lesson certificates, and other various treasures of my childhood.

Tempted, but must pass....we took Stitch to be framed this weekend. Thanks to Ladypoo who suggested that we include a pin as well.....We are now taking down art to hang Stitch, so "no more room on the walls...."

Besides, I have a Snow White and 7 dwarfs full size poster....

How did I miss stopping here? Look at the goodies......you will see that there are plenty of vegetarian offerings at the F/W.....and of course, beer and wine are made from fruit -........

I meant to stop here? I think Japan had 2 stops, that's why....maybe next year?

India
Curried Butternut Squash Soup with Naan Bread
Vegetable Curry with Basmati Rice
Coconut Rice Pudding
Grover Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc
Sula Chenin Blanc
Grover Vineyards Cabernet-Shiraz

Virgil,

So sorry to hear about your Dad. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

Virgil-

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your girls... (that includes Mom, too.) Take comfort in your memories, and hug each other a little tighter today... and every day.

Virgil, so sorry to hear about your father. We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

I tackled the Fibber McGee closet last week. John is finally home tonight to get the wedding photo scanned and posted.

Gotta love 80s big hair!!! And who decided a big bow across the rear end was flattering???

17 years ago this week we were visiting Mickey!!!

It finally stopped raining - this afternoon the water was up past our sidewalk and hour later it was gone. Gentle soaking rains are rare - but, this is the first time the water has creeped up into our yard.

Walked up to get Maggie after school - the flash flooding hadn't started, so we just had lots of big puddles. I borrowed a pair of her crocs for walking. We had a great time splashing and playing in puddles on the way home...

Virgil,
Sorry to hear about your dad. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
