OM... LOVE the puppy!!! She's beautiful- hard to believe she's only going to grow to 25 lbs or so... somehow, I think she'll be bigger than that!

How about "Smokey", as in, the Smokey Mountains in TN... or, Dolly... or... Beast???? (Only kidding...)

Man, really great minds think alike..... my post to Mark will be like Deja Vu for you! I swear I thought of it yesterday.

My parents did mention "Dolly" yesterday. But I reminded them they were going to have the dog spayed so she'd never fit the description!!

It better not be a beast!

The mom is only a 15# beagle, so that will help keep them small. Their last dog was some sort of lab mix (looked JUST like these two little dogs) and it didn't get much above 20-25 pounds. Best dog in the world....that's why it's taken my dad 3 yrs to find a new pup.

I also mentioned "Pringle" as a name idea.....b/c there is a HUGE Pringles plant in Jackson, TN (where the dog came from!)

But definitely NOT the cheesy pringle variety or that will make Nick puke!

The plot thickens. My parents called. They are about 2 1/2 hours away. I asked why they got the boy and not the girl and my mom panicked. She had to wake the pup up and flip it over to check. It's a girl. Since they have raised sheep, cows, pigs, cats, and dogs, (not to mention humans) I *think* they know what they are looking for!!! So somehow they ended up with a female that looks just like the male on petfinder. Maybe the shelter put it in wrong or maybe there was more than one black and white dog.

Well, after some confusion on which gender the pup was, the mystery is solved. It's a girl.
She's scrawny and a bit timid (although has become much less so today than yesterday) and really cute.....

The story of the pick up is weird. They called the lady who had her and she told them to meet her at a certain place at a certain time. Then she bathed the pup, gave it a 1/4 of a dramamine, and drove 80 mph up and down TN hills. So when my parents first saw the puppy it was groggy and scared and puking. Amazing they bought it. To me it's a red flag that my parents couldn't actually go to the woman's house (puppy mill?) That's weird. Plus the thing is so scrawny....my parents asked how much food the puppy has been getting and the woman said she had 28 other dogs there and they all eat together, so she doesn't know how much THIS puppy got. How can a little puppy compete for food with so many other (mostly adult) dogs???

Ah, well, my parents have taken the kids and the pup will be given lots of TLC over the course of the rest of this week. Besides, it's too hot to do much else besides love on a puppy!

Puppy mill or no, I think she'll do great, now that she's gonna get some lovin' and a lot of individual care.

I did it. I am now officially certifiable. I ordered two of the DCL lounge chairs from Mousesavers. The shipping is expensive, but they only charge it for one chair. And actually, you can't get two chairs of that quality for that price anymore, anyway. And besides, they're official DCL chairs.

Did I do a good enough job convincing anyone other than myself? 'Cause I have to convince my husband.
My son fell for it, he thinks it's cool.

Gotta go. Payroll, and then to the dentist to see about fixing my tooth.

the beds, chairs, armoire, nightside stand,......the whole kit and kaboodle to deck out a WL room here at home. They must have rehabed some rooms and had the stuff listed on ebay!

Yep...Mousesavers on eBay. And yes, the shipping for the two chairs is $100...but the chairs themselves are only 39.99. We repair people's deck chairs all the time, and I know you can't get that Disney quality for two deck loungers
for $180.
They'll need to be repainted, but we send stuff to the powder coaters all the time...so that's no biggie.


And no, Kiki....somehow I just don't think you'd fit them in the Mercedes...but thanks for offering!

Mousesavers has all that, too. I was sorely tested, since we're picking up Jared's new bed (just the mattress, box spring...okay they don't sell box springs anymore, but you know what I mean...and frame) tonight. I hadn't bought him a headboard or anything else yet. But I refrained from getting them.


What REALLY tempted me was the props they have from the rehab of Pirates of the Caribbean. Treasure chests!!

It's a much better deal if you're ready to buy two or more chairs, rather than just one. When they combine the shipping, it sets the price waaay cheaper than buying chairs in a store.
But they'll have more....save your pennies....or get up a neighborhood game of LRC and kill them all!!!
