Yes, Kevin had more hair in those days, I guess I did too! Yep, all mine. It was still the 80's, you know. Curly was in.

Stacey, I can sure tell it's you in those pictures, I even recognize Megan, but who is that guy? :rotfl:

Yeah, I may have only had a 26" waist, but I've always been recognizable by my round face.
Jay never really did have any hair on his head, and tried to make up for it on his face! And I don't think I've seen him wear his cowboy boots since then.

Plenty of neighborhoods around here with HOA's that, yes, do dictate the color of the homes. All have to be "desert friendly" and some shade of sand color. BORING!
Makes me glad I live in the sticks, where no one cares what we do.
And it's a good thing no one has come to check our front doors. We've needed new ones for years now. No amount of oiling is going to help.

It's Monday morning and we are back from a great weekend at WDW. This was our last weekend of our AP, Food and Wine Festival, and 10K race. Lots of things happening with lots to report, but here are a few highlights:

  • Getting a phone call from Irene on Saturday afternoon while we are in Birds of Flight (Lisa's top choice for AK) letting us know we don't have a room at PC. I forgot we booked two nights thinking we would go over on Friday night. Since we did not show up Friday they cancelled our Saturday room and the hotel is now full
  • Getting a call back from Irene letting us know she booked a room for me. Just another example of the power of DIS. She saved the weekend and the kids loved putting all the room charges on Irene's credit card.
  • Going to Official Allstar Cafe on Saturday afternoon and hearing Matt complain that there were to many good games on. We got to watch MI, OSU, FSU, Tigers, Notre Dame all at the same time. Great fun, especailly since we had room keys.
  • Running the Race for the Taste with Matt on Sunday morning. He has never run 6 miles. We agreed it would be a slow and fun run, enjoy going through MGM, around Boardwalk, through Epcot. It was a fun race with lots of people dressed up. Matt hung in there. We picked up the pace at mile 5. We talked about how we would go over the finish line together, he suggested skipping, I suggested holding our hands in the air together. However, once he saw the finish line it was like a horse heading to the barn. We finished at a full our sprint, him 20 ft in front of me. I'm proud that he was able to run a 10k. Now we are planning for next year.
  • Sam, Irene, Sharon, and Lisa meet us at the finish line. Irene had ballons so easy to find them. It was nice to have someone meeting us at the finish line at 8 am which means they were on the road at 7:30 am. No sleeping in.
  • We then spent the day at Food and Wine. I learned a lot more about beer, saka, beer, and more beer. It was a very relaxing 4 hour walk around the world. DIS friends made it special.....again.
Now it is back to school and work. I'm off to Philly today for a short business trip. Guess I should go pack.

Good Morning Al - Had a wonderful Anniverary Weekend at WDW - with a focus on Food and Wine, and (per above post) Dis friends.

We arrived Thursday night and began our walk around the world. Woth so many food booths, it would take us a few trips to sample all we want.

We soon discovered the magic of the new "Where Dreams Come True". First, we were given Anniversary Buttons at the desk - mostly 'cause I saw little kids receving "their first trip to WDW" and I commented that "I would never get a Disney button". And it really, truely was our Anniversary.

Back to the story, We were at Australia and one of the cast members said that he had a phone call for us....It was Mickey and Minne singing Happy Anniversary. Then a cast member gave us the most unique pin, which I will copy and post.....Then at American Adventure, we were presented with a certificate, a heart Mickey topper and an introductin into the food court, with a "hear-ye, hear ye".....

As for the food samplings - wine and beer tastings - I shall need to post these a few at a time, with the menu in hand.

We ended our evening by splurging on event T-shirts.

So, that was Thursday - stayed at Pop Century - and snagged the 50's....

Yeah - ....

I normally wouldn't either... but, I'm making a concession for my parents' 50th... I guess its the least I can do... after all, they fed me and clothed me for 18 years, funded my gymnastic and dance hobbies in my younger days, not to mention 4 years of undergrad work and a pretty pricy wedding... oh yeah... and the fact that they LOVE me!!!!!!!!

But what I was getting at was if the dates came out for NCL and didn't work for us, it would be a good excuse to do DCL again!!!!!!!!

Well, in that case, we have a few folks that might just bribe NCL for you!!!!!! :rotfl:

Good morning all. Bruce left this morning to head to Louisiana this weekend. He's going to his brother's big LSU football party to watch the Tigers & the Gators battle it out. GEAUX TIGERS!!! (Sorry Irene!) My sister called yesterday on their way to Amelia Island for a romantic, anniversary weekend. She said that they had an opportunity to go to the game but refused because they already had plans. What were they thinking???!!! It's not THAT far of a drive.

So, I'm a single mom this weekend. Wish me luck!

Hope everyone has a great Fri. & weekend.

'SCUSE ME!

Note to self - "Call Visa and dispute charges!!!!!!!"

On with the morning tup - I am back off to work...

Must make money to pay for Disney (apparently, for me and Dis friends!!!!)

Thanks for the understanding on the RANT. Our thinking was at what point do you make the houses looked dated by keeping the original colors that the builder picked? We definitely have some tyrants on our HOA board & ACC.

Have to brag on my big girl Emily. We just had our parent/teacher conference this morning. The first thing out of the teacher's mouth was "Do you have any questions for me before I tell you how wonderfully Emily is doing?" We always have concerns that she'll fall behind because of her late birthday. She just turned 6 in late Aug. and some of her classmates have already turned 7 (starting Sept. 1). Her teacher said that she didn't realize until a week or so ago that Emily was a full year younger than some of her classmates. She also said that if she isn't struggling now that she doesn't see it being an issue in the future.
