The computer is still in the shop, but it really did not matter. We spent all day Sunday, 7:30 am - 8 pm, at the Ocean Center working a gym meet.

The things we will do to support our kid/wife's addictions!

Stacey -- what did they say about 2008 dates. I just saw on the main board that Tom McAlpin as said January for the release of 08 dates. Yuck, I am getting anxious to know something and have something to look forward to.

Pam - feeling a bit better. Went back to sleep for a few hours this morning and that helped.

As for the Member Cruise - my guess is that Jim Lewis might announce it on this years cruise like he did last year. Trust me as soon as it is announced the DIS will know!

Time for me to drive across the state again (yawn). Looking for info on Food and Wine on the main thread, not very topic specific, that I can find.

I was hopeing Deb's site would have posted info on Party of the Senses for 2006 - but not yet....I'll look today.

Nah, don't need those. Won't be anymore cruising for us this year. We've already gone twice. But I'd really like to know what's going on in 2008.

Can't decide what was the most exciting part about yesterday.

Getting a new air conditioning unit so the office is cool OR getting new dual monitors.

I vote for the dual monitors because I can keep DIS open on one screen and work on the other.

All of this waiting for 2008 dates gave the school board time to post its draft '07-'08 school calendar. The kids get out on May 23, 2008. So we're fair game after that. I suspect that the dance recital will be May 31...maybe I should call to see if they know dates yet. If we cruise the week of Memorial week again, we'd be rushing like we did this year. Maybe waiting until June 7 or 14 would work better.

Not knowing the school's plans is really a pain in the neck. We had to cancel our Grand Canyon train trip for this weekend. And I was (honest!) really looking forward to it.
But Saturday is the Homecoming parade. Jordan's dance team is in it, and Jay is going to drive them in the '59.
I just wish we'd known about that when I booked the trip. At least we got all our money back except $10 per person.

I'm sort of glad they aren't announcing 2008 dates, yet. Our school calendars won't be released until March. The state will enact a later start date in 2007-2008. We know we're getting out in June - the question remains how late in June.

But, then again -. If we don't have a deposit in by the time the calendar came out and if the do over cruise is before school finishes- I have a feeling we wouldn't book at all. if we'd book before the calendar came out - the worst that would happen is we'd have to reschedule. We'd still be cruising... We might have to default to a Texas Do-over with Pam and her family...

Ah, I remember fondly going to the OSU-BGSU game a couple of years ago and sitting next to BGSU "fans."

The girls had NO idea how football was played. I knew more about their team than they did. If they didn't irritate me so much with their 4 letter words, (I had Nick there with me) I wouldn't have said a word.....but I couldn't stop myself. The conversation went something like this:

BGSU GIRL (screaming) GO CARPENTER!!! YEAH, CARPENTER!!! GO, GO CARPENTER!!!!!!!

ME: UH....ISN'T CARPENTER YOUR QUARTERBACK????

BGSU GIRL: YEAH! GO CARPENTER!!!!

ME: UH....YOUR TEAM IS ON DEFENSE RIGHT NOW AND YOUR QUARTERBACK IS SITTING ON THAT BENCH RIGHT THERE.

BGSU GIRL (LOOKING AT ME LIKE I HAD TWO HEADS) SO??????? GO CARPENTER!!!!!
