Awwwwh.....notice he did not reference the Dis...but he was thinking it :teeth:

Yeah, it is a great article (clap clap clap!!!) but I was thinking- where's the mention of going to Disney? I know I get my exercise there. haha :)

Great article. :)

Oh and I'm about to leave to go have the surgery.... I didn't sleep a wink last night. I didn't start getting tired until after I showered about 5am- well what's the point of going to sleep for 2hrs? that might work for DH but I don't do well on catnaps- just makes me tired and cranky. LOL

I'll talk at y'all later- soon as I'm able to get up to the computer. :)

Everytime at Disney we comment on the Stitch and Mickey wake up calls. Wouldn't it be cool if you could buy into that service and get wake up calls every day from Mickey?????

(in my best Mickey voice)
"up and at'um. Lots of stuff to do today. You're working in a job you hate, but you have to stay in b/c you need the money to come see me. Kitchen is a wreck and needs a good scrubbing. Oh, and the litter box is full. Get yourself out of bed already!!!!!"

Instead of the boring "Windows" sound, my computer at work starts its day with the Mickey wakeup call. When a critical question box comes up, the Army Seargant from Toy Story yells, "Code Red, repeat, we are at Code Red", my popup blocker says, "Hey look, I'm Picasso!", and at shutdown, the LGM says "I have been chosen, Farewell my friends, I go on to a better place."

That is neat, Karen!
Where did you get those sound bytes and how did you do that???

I love the Code Red! sound byte.

Now, I would be OK with Disney movie sounds on my computer. I generally keep the sound off, because I don't like unexpected noise. Like when you're innocently browsing Ebay auction and one of them starts yelling at you, or playing music really loud.

OM, that's great! Maybe Mike could start a new career. Vacation all but one day a week when he writes the article!

Irene, sorry. I didn't need to yell. Just wanted to make sure you look for us in the right year. :goodvibes

We DO get a Mickey wake up every morning! We have the Mickey phone/alarm combination. "Time to get up" "Look what time it is" He also alerts us when the phone rings.."phone's ringing" "anybody gonna answer that" :lmao:

The Toy Story ones are from:
http://disneyfan.50megs.com/

The Mickey wake up call is from:
http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/sounds.html
(Scroll way down to the "other" section).

Save the wav files that you want to use, then go to Sounds on your control panel and assign the sound you want to use to the action.

Mea Culpa! Going back through my posts, I DID say "early November 2007". No wonder everyone is confused. I meant 2008, honest!

Well, we could do both years? So sorry, I can't do 2007. I'm already doing an almost two week trip without the family in September. I think rooms are going to be tough at this late date too. Could you maybe sneak away in 2008? I've been saying a lot of dumb things lately, sorry guys. My mind seems to be out to lunch.

Mark and Mary, thought of you today too....

we passed a new restaurant in Columbus.....Bonefish Grill!! I told Mike I thought that was where you had your "pre-cruise dinner" and got creme brulee. Unfortunately, we were on our way to Dave & Busters and couldn't talk the kids out of going there.

Pam, Dave and Busters has an AWESOME fondue----much like the one the Garden Grill USED to have. Do you have D&B in your area?

Unfortunately, no D&B here!

Diana -- Are you suer about those dates. I thougth you were doing the 2 week trip in September 06 and that was why you were talking about November 07 and then a cruise with us in June 08. Is that right?

Just caught up.

A note about my situation. I have worked all my life. Even when my kids were young. I have had periods when I had great bosses and were very understanding. I had a period with one who did not and that was a miserable year. Thank goodness it was only 1 year.

I am very fortunate with the job I have. I get 20 days of vacation, 10 days at Christmas, 5 days for spring break, 2 personal day, 12 sick days and 7 additional holidays. I also have a boss that lets me adjust my schedule as to how I need it. He is a strong family man and is so understanding when it comes to my family. I couldn't ask for a better boss. During the school year, I come in early and leave early so that I can get Ashley to swim practice on the days that Charley can't take her. I drop everything when I need to go to the school because of sickness, etc. I feel so fortunate that I can do those things. I volunteer at the school when I can, made it to almost all of the school parties when they were having them, etc.

If I didn't work, we wouldn't have DVC, we wouldn't go on cruises or nice vacations and I probably wouldn't have any college funds. Oh well. Life is good
