JB's UPDATE:

Still no rock shrimp. They don't know when they will have them. Guess we will just have to eat steam oysters (BTW - they grow their own)

But who cares? I have 21 people on my list who are going to kick off the cruise by eating seafood on the intercoastal watching the sunset. :cool1:

There's more to life than rock shrimp... I think we'll live! Thanks for the update!

You're making my mouth water thinking of oysters-on-the-half-shell. Too bad we won't be joining y'all.

(In my best whiney voice) But we don't want oysters, we want rock shrimp. :confused3 :sad1:

That's OK. I see where they have hot dogs and grilled cheese on the menu. :rotfl2: Although around here it's not 'grilled cheese' it's 'cheese toasty'.

We've got a long wait for the sun to set if we're meeting at 4 - sunset on 5/26 is at 8:15... Granted, its worth the wait...

Thanks for the welcome! I've been so busy (with having a baby and all, who is now 1) that I haven't been able to post or even read posts in over a year! I'm anxious to see how things go with having a 1 year old with us this time.

It's been so long since I've had a little one I almost forget how busy they can keep you. I bet he'll/she'll love the rocking of the ship (but not too much rocking, please).

Well, at least my dad won't be there. He's been known to go up to guys in dress whites and say "hey, can you tell the captain we want bigger waves?"

Yes, when the seas were 15-20 feet he was out on deck whoopin and hollering....and then the next day he said "wow, finally the waves were big enough to rock me to sleep last night!!"

Ex-Navy man! :)

He did finally admit the rooms were nicer and the food was better on DCL than on the USS Midway (an aircraft carrier)

Don't forget, we have some wine to pass the time!!! :drinking1

:woohoo: Now, I'm ready to go!

Stopped by the Volunteers' used bookstore while at the Library. Picked up a stack of books for the cruise!! :woohoo:

time to pull out the suitcases!

Even though we are wearing summer stuff now, I'd rather pack the clothes we plan to wear on the cruise early rather than frantically wash at the last minute.

Forgot to brag on the kids a bit yesterday...

Both Mike and Maggie auditioned for the children's chorus in our theatre company's "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" -

Got the call yesterday afternoon - they're in!!! :cheer2:

This will be a family affair this summer, John as tech director, I'm props mistress and the kids will be on stage!

YIPPIE!!! CONGRATS!!
Auditions for Jungle Book are next week (as if we won't have enough to do) We're hoping the kids (both of them) get in....
of course then it will be long days between acting camp and rehearsals, but oh well. :)

Ohiominnie................

You had me worried about my black dress. It finally arrived today, and thank goodness it fits like a dream! WHEW! ;)

Busy rest of the week here..........

Friday is my classes author's tea.
Saturday is Kel's birthday party.
Monday is her actual birthday.
Everything must be cleaned up in my classroom and all folders turned in before I can leave next Friday afternoon.

Too much runs through my mind when I get in bed at night!!!!!

I think I need a vacation!

Anyone with little girls ever take princess costumes? I just don't feel like lugging those.

Ang

We have lugged most of Dominique's Princess dresses on most of the cruises. This time we are just bringing her Belle Dress. She has gotten to tall for her other ones, so we bought her a new Belle dress when we were at WDW for spring break

hey everyone back from DR NATE has his stitches out! Whew! Pam, sorry to say but so far no bag/shirts as pf 431pm

I walked out during the kids' auditions - I couldn't sit there and watch

John stayed - he said Mike's audition was hilarious - he did a song from his 5th grade musical (performing tomorrow night) called "catching some air" and he performed it complete with the choreography...totally unexpected...

Maggie was more nervous and sang very quietly...So, I was more afraid she'd be left out and she would be crushed. So, there was a huge sigh of relief when the call came yesterday.

It does help being a part of the core theatre group. The director knows the kids and their personalities so, he will look past the nerves...
