That's right. Not even a baby can stop two boozehounds from throwing down in the Happiest Place on Earth. Especially at Epcot's Food & Wine Festival!
It has been a while since I last wrote a trip report. They are several old reports if you are so inclined. And by so inclined I mean you are serving 20-to-life or on the pooper.
Boozin' & Grubbin' 2004
Boozin' & Grubbin' 2005 part 1
Boozin' & Grubbin' 2005 part 2
Of course you don't have to read them, but if you don't, you may not get some of the inside jokes. Although if you do back track, that is a lot of time you aren't going to get back. Then again, if you are reading about what someone else did on their vacation to Disney World, you've got some time to spare. So you really have no excuses.
In case you have forgotten (don't blame you) or are new to this whole train wreck I call a trip report, this is me and my DH, Kory.
We're fairly easy-going folk. It takes very little to entertain us, which is how we ended up with...
DD 20 months. Steelers fan by birth, cow fan by shower gift.
Scooner Tuna, as I like to call her, is not a fan of Santa...
or sitting correctly in chairs...
but she loves her Dada...
and cheesin' for the camera.
It really didn't take much convincing to get DH to agree to Scooner's first trip. And by not much convincing I mean I had to do several wifely favors and I'm not talking about laundry.
But once I had the go ahead, I dove head first into planning. This was our first trip with a tagalong, but more importantly, it was baby's first trip! Completely unlike our other adult trips that included a lot of booze, a lot of cartwheels at the GF, and a lot of grinding at the BET Club. Don't get me wrong, Scooner would be all about groovin' at a dance club, but her fake ID needs some work.
Needless to say, this trip would be different and I had lots of questions about touring with an infant that I needed answered.
How do I keep her occupied in line?
Where do we change her diapers?
Can these cup holders accommodate both my margarita and your beer?
Lots of important details to figure out.
So we planned the trip during my school break in October and chose CSR for our home base. We worked with Kathy from Magical Journeys and were able to get a good rate of around $100/night. She's the bestest! We also made arrangements to visit DH's Aunt and Uncle who live near Daytona and stay one night. Free accommodations - right on!
Our plan was to arrive in Daytona Sunday, October 12 and do a little of the ol' hug-eat-play-chitchat-sleep-eat-chitchat-hug business and leave for WDW first thing in the morning. We booked CSR until Thursday the 16th, giving us nearly 3 full days in the parks.
I only made one ADR - a character breakfast at O'hanas. We decided we'd rather eat a lot of food at the festival.
And by food I mean booze.
