That's right. Not even a baby can stop two boozehounds from throwing down in the Happiest Place on Earth. Especially at Epcot's Food & Wine Festival!

It has been a while since I last wrote a trip report. They are several old reports if you are so inclined. And by so inclined I mean you are serving 20-to-life or on the pooper.

Boozin' & Grubbin' 2004
Boozin' & Grubbin' 2005 part 1
Boozin' & Grubbin' 2005 part 2

Of course you don't have to read them, but if you don't, you may not get some of the inside jokes. Although if you do back track, that is a lot of time you aren't going to get back. Then again, if you are reading about what someone else did on their vacation to Disney World, you've got some time to spare. So you really have no excuses.

In case you have forgotten (don't blame you) or are new to this whole train wreck I call a trip report, this is me and my DH, Kory.

We're fairly easy-going folk. It takes very little to entertain us, which is how we ended up with...

DD 20 months. Steelers fan by birth, cow fan by shower gift.

Scooner Tuna, as I like to call her, is not a fan of Santa...

or sitting correctly in chairs...

but she loves her Dada...

and cheesin' for the camera.

It really didn't take much convincing to get DH to agree to Scooner's first trip. And by not much convincing I mean I had to do several wifely favors and I'm not talking about laundry.

But once I had the go ahead, I dove head first into planning. This was our first trip with a tagalong, but more importantly, it was baby's first trip! Completely unlike our other adult trips that included a lot of booze, a lot of cartwheels at the GF, and a lot of grinding at the BET Club. Don't get me wrong, Scooner would be all about groovin' at a dance club, but her fake ID needs some work.

Needless to say, this trip would be different and I had lots of questions about touring with an infant that I needed answered.

How do I keep her occupied in line?
Where do we change her diapers?
Can these cup holders accommodate both my margarita and your beer?

Lots of important details to figure out.

So we planned the trip during my school break in October and chose CSR for our home base. We worked with Kathy from Magical Journeys and were able to get a good rate of around $100/night. She's the bestest! We also made arrangements to visit DH's Aunt and Uncle who live near Daytona and stay one night. Free accommodations - right on!

Our plan was to arrive in Daytona Sunday, October 12 and do a little of the ol' hug-eat-play-chitchat-sleep-eat-chitchat-hug business and leave for WDW first thing in the morning. We booked CSR until Thursday the 16th, giving us nearly 3 full days in the parks.

I only made one ADR - a character breakfast at O'hanas. We decided we'd rather eat a lot of food at the festival.

And by food I mean booze.

Coming up: Day 0 - A day not at Disney is not one worth counting.

Sunday, October 12

Kory and I got up around 6 to shower and get last minute things taken care of. Scooner got up not long after, raring to go.

With that hair, she is one song about the letter T away from being a muppet.

After her makeover...

she had some important words with the dog.

"Now Mama gave me this chapstick to hold while she was changing me because she didn't want my hands in the diaper. But I was thinking that I could give it to you and we could play with it later. Now don't eat it. Ok?"

We left our humble home around 9 am, with a minivan packed silly with 60 diapers, 20 toddler outfits, 4 suitcases, 3 laundry baskets of supplies, 2 strollers, 1 pack 'n play, and not near enough sense.

We did pack a DVD and many children’s videos, however. The trip to Daytona is 4 hours - I mean we ain’t total morons.

On the trip down, Scooner occupies her time with her videos and toys...

Kory occupies his time with driving somewhat safely...

and I occupy my time with Matt, Mike, Mike, Len & Annette. Love a freaking Disney podcast. Shout-out to Pete, John, Corey, Julie & Kevin - love you guys too!

Well as you know from my previous reports (told yooooou), it's not a vacation without a stop at McDonalds. Here Kory gets a McBiscuit, a McDrink and McHeartDisease.

Back on the road and a good time is had by all, as you can see.

After a long and pricey stop at Target for food and toiletries for the week, we made it to Daytona around 3 pm. We stop for a quick lunch at Taco Bell and scoot on over to the relative's house.

Here Scooner is doing the "play" part of our hug-eat-play-chitchat-sleep-eat-chitchat-hug plan.

We eat an amazing turkey dinner and retire to our quarters for a good night's sleep with glorious dreams of Disney.

And by Disney I mean booze.

Next up: Epcot's Jew Seminar

Yay!!! Vettechick (and a very cute Vettechchicklet.....I've got a 18month nephew if she is into younger guys!) are back with a TR!

I couldn't be more excited ... Vettechick is back with a new addition to the fam. Does scooner drink virgin margaritas? Can't wait to read the report.

Loving the report - I have not been to the Food and Wine Festival yet, but am hoping to plan it for 2009 with our friends who have a little girl close in age to our DD3. We have been to Disney with them twice before and we all love to drink around the world (thank goodness for Disney transportation) so it is only fitting we go for the Festival!!! Can't wait to read the rest.

Thanks! I'll let her know that when she's too cool for Dada, she's got options.

Thanks - yes, I'm finally back! Scooner drinks anything and everything - she definitely gets that from both my side and father's side. :rotfl:

Yay!!! A vettechick trip report!! What a way to end the year.

And Scooner Tuna's muppet hair was freakin adorable!!!

More! More!

Yay, really looking forward to this. I've read your previous reports and loved them both. And Scooner is adorable!

I don't know what Magical Journey's is, but I'm surprised you didn't see that price on the codes board. My dh wants to stay there next time. He begged to go back to the Food Court every day.

OK, I'm in. Been reading and lurking for a while, guilty of reading your earlier trip reports and ready to come out of hiding.

alliecats, my favorite gal! Thanks for stopping by. But I'm afraid there were no sightings of Gary Sinese this trip. I understand if you want to bail now.

:thumbsup2
great start, so far...very funny

OhMari, I actually got my first pin this year and used it to book that room! :cool1: But then I wanted extra days and let her take over the ressie. That way she could call every week instead of me! She is great though, so easy to work with and didn't cost me a dime. :thumbsup2

I loved Pepper Market! Best food court on property, for sure!

Nice to see you back vettechick99 - can't wait to hear how this goes with your simply adorable daughter. So would the cupholders hold a sippy cup and a margarita? ;)

Dee lish! <insert drinking smilie here> With this school winter "break" still going on I could use 1 or 5 of those, thanks ladies...

I'm crossing my fingers that I'm quoting correctly.

Cant wait to read about your little ones first (of many) trips!

Cant believe she is that old already - it seems like yesterday - I need to get a life :rotfl:

Great start! I can't wait to read more. I loved your old TR's so it'll be fun to read the new one, especially with the new little addition :)

Comming along for the ride. Now lets get to WDW and have some fun!!!
