Hey there...who you callin' dysfunctional?

I didn't want to think about the cruise and get killed by anticipation...but it's less than 90 days now so it's time to psych myself up!

My name is Paul, and I'll be joined on this cruise with 3 other friends, Ronald, Shamus and Patric. It's Ronald's pre-engagement party cruise (well yeah, it's just an excuse but a darn good one!). We'll be hard to miss because we're Chinese Canadians (a rarity in Florida ever since the trainees for HK Disneyland went back home!) and a couple of us are 6 feet and over.

Hmm...it'll be my 5th Cruise, Ronald's 4th, Shamus' gazillion, and Patric's 2nd. Only Ronald and I have cruised Disney before.

Anyway, just wanna say hello, and I'll probably be writing a trip report when we're done (no promises though because I get pretty lazy!).

Glad we are able to join everyone. Dysfuncional? What's that? I thought that was "normal". We are celebrating too graduations. Thomas recieved his photography certificate on 5/8. I "finally" recieve my Assiciate in Art Degree on 5/9 and we are sailing on 5/10.

I'm getting impatient, I always do as soon as I book a trip I'm ready to go.

Our spring/summer vacation was going to consist of the attending the Houston Astros spring training in Kissimee, FL. Turns out my husband will not be able to take the time off before spring training ends. Soooooo, from his own mouth, under his own will, he says to me, "well....we could always do the Disney Cruise". I almost passed out! I priced an itinerary for the Disney Wonder 5/10 - 5/14 2009 via disney.com and we might be first time cruisers in a few months! I'll definately need everyones tips on things I shouldn't miss, what to expect, etc etc etc.

Bummer about missing spring training, but WOO WHOO on a cruise!!! We have a great group going with a lot of first time cruisers. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Our group is organized through here on the DIS and hosted by the PodCast crew. Like Tracy said, there is a huge thread on the Podcast Board about it.

Thanks winotracy and jeanigor! I've never taken a cruise before and I am so HAPPY that my first one will be a DISNEY CRUISE! I'm really interested in finding out more about the adult excursions since we have no children. I ordered the free DCL dvd today and will be doing to research online. Soooooo excited!!!

Thank you so much DVCsince02! Those two threads helped alot! I'm sure I'll have so many other questions, if you don't mind. I heard there is a certain color DIS'ers wear on the cruise. Know anything about that? I want to fit in and meet/make new friends!

Hi Jen! Thank you so much! We didn't book with DU. My husband jumped the gun (from excitement) and booked directly with Disney Cruise Line w/o me knowing. It's our first time, so I'm sure our next one will be with DU.

We are not staying on property prior to the cruise. We are flying in that morning from Houston - CAN'T WAIT! Last night, I had my first sleepless night thinking about the cruise. Ever had that happen?? HAHA!

Also, I left a post on the fish extender thread. I'd like to added to the list!

Did you know you can transfer your reservation to DU? Only those who book through DU can participate in the DIS special events.
You may want to look into that. It's at no extra cost, and you may get a shipboard credit.

Also, you MUST listen to the special DIS Unplugged "special" podcast about the cruise. Lots of great info. Let me know if you need help finding it.
