My lovely DW Caropooh & I just transfered our 7 night Magic to this cruise. We are celebrating 25 years of Wedded Bliss and will love to do this on CC. She has posted already on the PODCAST thread. This will be our 4th DCL and we are on the European Capitals in July of 2010 for a 5th.

Hello and Happy New Year to everyone going on this cruise.

dh and I just decided to cut our WDW trip short in exchange for our first disney (well first ever) cruise.

we were thinking of going the start of our trip but decided on the end to wind down.

Low and behold it's a podsquad cruise

admittedly I haven't heard the podcasts for a few months so I knew nothing about this cruise.

That said I have a couple of questions before we commit to booking.

is there someone we need to book through to get the dis rate?
is there a dis meeting once on board
what happens on these cruises - cruises in general and podsquad cruises

thanks and nice meeting you all.

To book and be part of the Podcast cruise you must book through Dreams Unlimited Travel. https://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/cruise/podcast-cruise-pricing.cfm Tracy will be your agent, she is handling the cruise.

The podcasters have planned some events for us. The only one that they have some detail on (since Disney won't cement their plans) is a Palo Brunch for all the DIS Board Podcast Cruisers. It will be for everyone, not just over 18. It will not however, be inside Palo. I will look up and see which podcast they did specifically for the cruise. That might help some. &&Found it. November 12, 2008. It took the place of the e-mail show. It isn't too long, I would suggest it.

You should come say hello to us on the other thread for this cruise, on the Podcast board.http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=29515040 I am also a first time cruiser (Disney and otherwise) and have had my fears/worries/questions answered by the other DISers.

p.s. We have an unofficial pre-cruise meet planned for Saturday May 9, 2009 an hour prior to Wishes on the beach of the Poly. So we can grab a Dole Whip (or something stronger, if that's your fancy) and get a little acquainted before sailing.

What Todd said and adding.....Listen to the podcast all about this cruise! It's the "11/12/08 Podcast Cruise Edition". If this doesn't give you incentive to book, I don't know what will! It's the first official Podcast Cruise and I'm so happy to be a part of it!

i thought the dis cruise had a special price? I to the travel site listed and the price for 3 people is almost 500 more then booking through disney directly.

is this price wrong or old?

Unfortunately, no. It must be booked thru DU.

Put in a request and see what it ends up being. The group pricing is less than Disney's prices so you might not be looking at something the same. The pricing that you see is just sample pricing. You don't mention if you have kids and ages can change the pricing. If you are looking for a category that isn't available on the form, just put a note in the special requests with your name and we'll see what we come up with. Worst case, the pricing will be the same as Disney. Best case, it will be less.
