5/10/09 -- A "WONDER"ful cruise w/the Pod Squad!!!

Nope, we are doing it on our own - but with 5 little ones and in laws coming along I think we might be too busy for anything else????

If you booked directly thru Disney you should still look into transferring your reservation to DU as you will qualify for some onboard credits that you could use for shore excursions, etc. Also, we don't know what all the Podcast crew will have planned for us yet, but it may still be some things you'd be interested in. The travel agent @ DU that's handling all of this for the cruise is winotracy on the DISboards...just send her a PM and she'll be able to give you more info. Here's a link to the thread on the DIS Unplugged board regarding the cruise: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1683088

I think you should book through DU and maybe join us for some things if possible. The more the merrier. If you don't book through DU and you get there you might see how much fun you are missing out on. If you book and it doesn't work out, you'd be missed, but people would understand.

If you book thru DU you have more onboard credits so that's just extra savings plus you get all the goodies because it's the podcast cruise.

And you don't have to attent to all extra's, you're allowed to.

393 days! :cool1:

Or 1 year, 28 days

* 33,955,200 seconds
* 565,920 minutes
* 9432 hours
* 56 weeks (rounded down)

56 weeks also do it for me....

Yikes! I hate to say that I haven't been listening for a couple months and had no idea this was going on. Wouldn't you know it, I just booked the cruise with DVC points this morning. Shoot! We are treating our kids and grandkids to a week at WDW the week before the cruise and we thought this would give us time to decompress after the little ones leave. Well, everyone have a great time. I'm sure we still will too. This will probably be the first cruise we go on where we will not attend a DIS Meet. :sad1:

Oh, heck, just wander out to the secret verandah on deck 7...you're likely to stumble into an impromptu DISmeet there.

Less than a year to go!!!!

I'm in! I'm in!!! Making my deposit today!!! :cool1:

I am sooooooooooooooo excited about this cruise! DH will be celebrating his college graduation and i'll (hopefully) be celebrating the fact that i've lost weight!!

So i'll lose a bunch of weight only to put it back on again during the cruise! :thumbsup2

ETA: are we all on deck 7? LOL

We're on there too. Midship deck 6.

What the heck is a fish extender and why would I want to know?!?:confused3

Don't worry -- it has nothing to do with pantyhose! :lmao:

They're basically these "pockets" people make and hang from the decorative fish they have by the stateroom door. Then when groups get together (like the Podcast cruise, etc) a lot of people will bring little gifts for each other and put them in the pocket. I haven't cruised with DCL in a very long time but am looking forward to our cruise in May and have already been trying to think of some little surprises from the Pacific Northwest.

Just look on the DCL board or google "fish extender" and you'll see some examples.

Now I don't know if I need a fish extender or not! I briefly thought about it, but then changed my mind...what the heck would I bring from Indiana anyway...lol

Thanks Calypso...Think I'll be making one. Gives me somewhere to focus all the excitement for awhile.... Is this something that gets organized sign ups or do you just put stuff in anyone's that has them out?

You can bring me a Slippery Noodle tee. I didn't get mine last week when we were there.

Or mini race cars. Or checkered flags. Or Indiana quarters. Or Colts/Pacres magnets or mini calendars.

But I'd still go with the Slippery Noodle stuff for me!:thumbsup2

:cool2:

Or a bottle of Chateau Thomas wine. Gotta have priorities!
:lmao:

Well...you're not shy, are ya? :rotfl:

I've never been to the Slippery Noodle! Maybe I'll have to check it out! I can't believe you guys were here and we didn't have a meet!

I lived in Indy/Brownsburg for 10 years before moving to New Orleans. And grew up in southern Indiana. So we took a long weekend to visit. Stayed at the Crowne in a train car and just kinda hung out. Had to get me a St Elmo's shrimp cocktail.....mmmmmm

Yippee!!! I thought it was you -- but wasn't sure. That's just wonderful. :goodvibes
