Our family of 7 is staying in a house over the weekend prior to hitting WDW. I think we want to kind of lie low on the 4th, but I'd love some suggestions of activities in the Orlando area in case we find ourselves itching to get out. We're going to Clearwater on Sunday, so I'm not interested in doing anything beachy on the 4th and really don't want to do too much driving. Any ideas?

In 2014 we did the SciFi Fourth of July in Celebration. It was a good time but the place was packed! We rode a bus from the outskirts of Celebration and had to wait an hour to get on the bus. After the fireworks, the bus line stretched down the street and it took us hours of waiting in line. Just hours with exhausted children standing in a line that stretched forever. Therefore we won't be returning to Celebration this year!

Very true...it gets CRAZY busy! You would have to arrive early to mid afternoon to get a parking spot downtown to avoid the park and ride.
