Just curious, we are staying on property July 1-July 5th and wanted to know how easy is it to get access to the poly beach for the 4th of July? We are not staying there, but are they strict on who is allowed? We will be arriving by monorail. Anyone have any experiences?

If we are coming by monorail how would they know if we have an ADR or not?

We are not trying to cheat the system as we are going to be in Magic Kingdom on July 3rd, we just want to see the 360 view as well the next night. Is there anywhere else that is good for the 360 view?

They do check at the monorail exit. It isn't a free for all. You queue to exit.

If you really want to watch from the beach, make an ADR at Kona, Ohana or the Luau.

I made a reservation at Kona for the July 4th afternoon just now. Will they honor it that night like they do at California grill if you have your receipt?

Beach is reserved for people staying at that resort. They are paying big $ for the amenities the resort has to offer. Everyone wants to go watch the fireworks on Poly beach and became a problem for people staying there.
I believe you can also see them from the dock of the TTC. It’s actually right next to Poly.

Thank you all for the feedback. I understand and get it. We use to watch them there years ago, but not since the bungalows were built. I guess that has taken away a lot of the beach and confined it to a smaller area. Thanks again.

You can walk to poly from either ttc or from gf. You can watch from other areas besides the beach. The area just outside of the lobby has a nice view overlooking the pool. Also the area by the marina is nice too. My last stay I was amazed how many good spots there were. I usually stay in Hawaii but this trip we were in Tuvalu.

Also gf has a big area by GGG also with music piped in.

Good luck finding a nice spot. :flower1:

They do check for ADR on the path from the TTC on July 4 as well. It is not a sly back entry.

we stayed at the poly over the fourth of july in both 2016 and 2017. while i know that they do some things to control the crowds, my experience is that there are plenty of people there that have just shown up to watch the fireworks. as someone who was actually paying to stay there, i found it really disappointing. on the 4th last year we ended up just watching the fireworks from our balcony because we couldn't find a decent spot anywhere else. after the fireworks were over, the line on the boating dock was the longest i had ever seen it and the line for the monorail stretched all the way back to the check-in desk for Ohana.

The big issue is that there are multiple points of entry, and even with staff checking, if a CM is busy with one group, another may be able to walk right by. But I'd not rely on it as an option. The monorail has a natural choke point. The TTC paths are patrolled, but lack the same level of natural access control.

If you're CL, they absolutely restrict that beach, with seating and food. They do a very good job of that. I recommend asking for NOT GROUND LEVEL for your room, however, as other people on the resort (whether other Poly guests, or people coming there just for the day to watch) tend to take the chairs, and staff often will gather it up for July 3 and 4 (or you end up having to pull it into your room!). Plus, all the people wandering, with that first floor sliding door....

I am babysitting my sisters baby on July 4th while she and her husband go to the park. They are staying at POFQ. Will they have a hard time getting to the resort to pick her up? It will be at least 2 hours before fireworks. I would meet her in the lobby. I guess I could also meet her at TTC??

To be specific here, the reserved CL portion of the beach is typically the area below. The much larger sections of the beach to the left and right of this area are open to other guests. Pic was 7/4/17.

They will prob have long waits for the bus back to POFQ. And will have to deal with it. Or they can get a cab from MK.
Leaving at park closing/fireworks any time you have to endure the long waits for busses. I can only imagine the 4th will most likely have even larger crowds. You taking transportation with a baby to TTC wouldn’t help. I don’t believe there is a bus from POFQ to TTC. And they will encounter long waits for monorail or ferry to go to TTC as much as taking the bus to POFQ. Perhaps even longer. POFQ is a small resort so wait would be less. Just wait in the comfort of the room. No sense waking up the baby to go to lobby or the chaos of the TTC.
Are you staying at POFQ too?
