Fourth of July – A Sorcerer’s Apprentice Family trip at BWV July 3-8 (Pre-Trip) - LONG

We’re less than a week away, packing the bags is almost complete, all the plans to be made are made…. so just how long will this week drag??? In an attempt to cope with the wound up state of being on the verge of a WDW trip, I’m starting the trip report early with a brief but informative description of the parties involved. Also included will be a recap of the above mentioned plans and a general overall rambling in an attempt to self review and be sure things are set to start off right.

Cast –
OUR CREW – Flying in from St. Louis and arriving MCO Jul 3 – Have our Magical Express tags and booklet ready to roll
Me – Your self named Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Super Planner, out to prove on this trip, since we’re DVC members visiting our “home” for the first time, we can take it easy and not rush here there and everywhere all at the same time.
DW – My queen who is just as nuts about Disney as I am, but doesn’t want to admit it as enthusiastically as I do (I submit the fact that she packed our bags 6 days prior to departure as exhibit A). Also doesn’t believe I’ll be able to take things easy this trip. Maybe I will, Maybe I won’t, but either way, I will have fun!
DD – The princess who just now (thankfully?) is just starting to exhibit a bit of a rebellious streak, but is still a great great kid and big sister.
DS – The funny boy – Likes to drive his sister crazy (she lets him of course), but also, like his sister, has a great big heart and is very smart.
We’re blessed with two wonderful children and can’t wait to be back in the magic.

DM – My Mom Flying in from Dayton and arriving MCO Jul 3. Also has her Magical Express tags and booklet ready to roll. Has arthritis, so a rented wheel chair or scooter, may be in her park hopping plans.

SIS’ CREW – Flying in from Baltimore and arriving MCO Jul 3 – Renting a car
DSIS – My Sister, almost as big a Disney nut as her brother. She’s an AP holder and this is her third and last trip on the AP
DBIL – Brother-in-Law. A Disney nut, but not quite as much as the rest, big war plane buff.
DL – Niece, Snow White fan since toddler stage. She’s also moving to Orlando later this summer and will be interviewing with Disney this trip!! Keeping our fingers crossed and sending pixie dust her way.
DM – Nephew 1 – Linebacker in training, good sport with DS
JB – Nephew 2 – Jungle Boy, this nickname was coined by DS when SIS’ crew visited us about 7 years ago and has stuck. A Disney fan, not a huge fan, but loves EPCOT. Will only be here for 3 of the 5 nights as work/college schedules must be met

A sidebar to add further commentary to the story; my sis is my half sister. Same father, different moms. Our Dad and my mom weren’t married that long, but my sis and mom are close.

The Accommodations- Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
2 Bedroom villa Standard view – Our Crew, DM, and DL
Studio – Standard view – Sis’ Crew less DL

The Plans –
Sunday 7/3 – Hopefully everyone’s flights are on time and transfers go smoothly. We’ll check in, maybe swim, get some dinner (Spoodles?), and then welcome the others to our Home away from Home!!

Monday 7/4 – Plan is to hit MGM-Studios in the morning, lunch wherever, back to the Villas for an early afternoon swim, then head to Epcot for our PS at Le Cellier. We’ll be staying to see the Independence Day version of Illuminations. Slightly concerned about getting into Epcot in the PM as this is one of the busiest days at WDW and we may get locked out of Epcot if the park reaches capacity. Also wondering how Mom’s arthritis will be with the heat/crowds. Another reason to take it easy.

Tuesday 7/5 – Pool Day We’ll also walk around the BoardWalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin resorts. No particular lunch plans but wouldn’t mind trying Yacht Club Galley for someplace different. DSIS has to drive DL around to the interview sites. This looks like it’s going to be a lengthy interview as she’s going to several resorts and parks as part of the process. Late afternoon, hopefully plan to attend the DVC member block party at PI before our Dinner PS at AKL Boma.

Wednesday 7/6 – Animal Kingdom Day – Hit the park early, and before it gets unbearably hot, head back to the Villas in the PM for a swim/nap/rest. After resting we’ll make our way over to the Contemporary for a Dinner PS at Concourse Steakhouse. After that, it’s open for any of the parks or Downtown Disney.

Thursday 7/7 – Magic Kingdom Day – Go when everyone’s ready, break sometime, then back for nighttime fun. We have an early 4:15 pm Dinner PS at Cinderella’s Royal table, so we will break before or after this. I’m going to try to stay to see the Kiss Goodnight, but not sure if everyone will want to wait. We’ll see.

Friday 7/8 – Departure Day for OUR CREW and DM. Our flights are mid afternoon, so we may plan to have an early breakfast and play miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens before heading to the airport. SIS’ crew doesn’t fly home till Saturday so they will be staying somewhere else tonight (No reservations yet, but plans are to check the AP availability when they arrive).
