Cast- Myself, 30 & DH 33
This was our second Disney Cruise, but our first without the kids.
Today we were up at 7:40(this is really sleeping in for us) and we headed out to the breakfast buffet by 8:45. We really enjoyed this buffet and were done by 9:15.
Since we dont really care too much for Nassau, we planned to only get off the ship to find a phone to call home. On our way off the ship we passed th Princess Party in the atrium, which was a picture/autograph session with the princesses. This was a very popular event as the line was extremely long. Get there early if this interests you. We spent longer in Nassau than expected because we couldnt find a phone to work. We tried many different kinds, but none would take our phone card or connect through.
While in Nassau we found the Del Sol store, which my neices had told me about(all their merchandise changes color in the sun). Since they seemed to like this stuff, I had to buy them some nailpolish there once I stumbled across the store.
After over an hour we gave up on calling home and decided we would just use the internet cafe on board,so it was back to the ship. We then took our first dip in the adult pool and joined the most famous DISers/Disney Cruisers, Barb & Tony in the hot tub. While in there, a quick shower started, but it was over before we had finished lunch (pizza from Pinnochios, which was pretty good). Then it was back to the adult pool for some frozen drinks and relaxation in the sun. We saw some of the "games" at the adult pool, before we left at 3:15 for the 3:30 showing of Lilo and Stitch in the Walt Disney Theater. Very cute movie!
We made a quick stop at Shutters before finally making our way to the Internet Cafe. When leaving the IC we saw the Promenade Louge was serving nachos & chicken wings. Of course we had to stop there to sample some of those, Yummy!
By 5:30 we were back in our room getting ready for our night at Palos. DH got ready first and then he took off to see Who Wants To Be A Mousketeer, while I got ready. He liked the show even though the panel seemed to have some issues. Before dinner we took a quick walk around the Captains Welcome Aboard Party and got a picture taken(the one we ended up buying).
We made it to Palos right at 8:00. I cant say enough about this place. I was a little worried that the food would be too "gourmet" for me as Im a plain eater and that the waitstaff would be stuffy, but it wasnt at all. Our waiter, Quinn, was very relaxed, but very good. He gave us a sampler platter of appetizers and I picked at those. Nothing really stood out as great(not bad, but just not my type of food). Then the soup and salad came along and they were both good. The entrees were next and they were very good. DH got the filet and I had a pasta dish. Dessert was just WOW! Now I know what all the fuss is about the chocolate souffle, and the Tiramisu was delicious as well. We left Palos very full and very happy. While leaving we ran into Barb & Tony who were dining with Cruise Director Rick. They had told us to stop by their table for them to introduce us and take some pictures so we did that.
After dinner we had another night of club hopping ahead, but we started with a little souvenier shopping first. Then we checked out the deck party for a while. That seemed like a lot of fun. Of course, after Palo there was no way I could dance so we just observed.
Then it was off to the Match your Mate show at 10:30. This was a lot of fun. Then it was on to another show of Dueling Pianos at 11:00 and Karaoke at 11:30. On our last cruise we missed all this nightlife/club entertainment so this was all new for us. It was a lot of fun, but tiring. So after another busy day and late night,it was back to the room to rest up for a day in Paradise...Castaway Cay!
