4th of July 2011 at Universal

Hello
I consider myself one of the biggest WDW fans. I have never been to Universal so I decided to take my soon to be 12 year old son this summer for 1 week and try to experience as much as possible off-site from WDW. We are staying at the Royal Pacific. We arrive on July 3rd. I already planned our day and evening for July 3rd but now I am looking to get the most out of July 4th. Which park should we go to if we want to see the fireworks? Does anyone know what time they start at?
I only purchased 4 day 1 park per day passes to Universal and Unlimited passes to Seaworld and Aquatica - so we can not move from park to park on July 4th.
Please help me!!!

Fireworks are not great, not like Disneys, but you see them from Citywalk , or if you are in US, i think they where at 9pm when US was closing, IOA is open till 10pm

The fireworks are "fired off" from the lagoon at the Studios (at park closing) but you can see them from CityWalk and a few places at IOA. But stick with the Studios for the best views.

I reserved a cabana at Hard Rock for July 4th. Can you see the fireworks from there, or should we go to CityWalk during the fireworks?

Are the fireworks set to music like at WDW (i.e. do I need to be near a speaker at US to hear the music)

We were staying at the Hard Rock for the 4th of July last year. We had gone to Disney for the day and got back to the hotel right as the Universal fireworks began. They looked amazing from the Hard Rock parking lot. It looked like they were setting them off from the empty parking lot at the old Hard Rock Cafe which is adjacent to the hotel. If you look at a google earth map of Universal, the lagoon is right behind the Hard Rock. They should look great from the pool at the Hard Rock!
