Come Independance Day, we shall (hopefully) be landing courtesy of Monarch Airlines about 1pm at Sanford Airport prior to a 14 day trip to Disney.
Myself (50 something), DW (40 whatever) and DS 15 (going on 35?) are trying our first trip to the Mouse, with full 14 day DDP, Park Hopper passes, Hire Car, and high hopes on checking on the progress of our Cousins over the Pond. We are staying on site at POR.

Being a 'newby' to the boards, I hope that you will show reasonable restaint to my errors and assist me with advice which I obviously require.
The plan at this stage is to collect the car and go to POR, calling in at Walmarten route for 'mister fans', poncho's, and a case of beer (for medicinal purposes, of course). Having checked in, then hit the Mill for a CS meal, and then DTD for the evening, doubtless then an early night, due to time differences!

You are going to have a great time! You might also want to start a trip report, or at least put a link to this one, in the UK Trip Reports thread. Can't Wait to hear all about it!

Thanks, Ears4all, my first reply!!:worship:
As I said, sadly I'm a complete rabbit on the Boards, but will try to work out 'linking'.
Although a novice to WDW, we have already sampled (more than once) DLP as a family, including once when eldest DS(then 22) arrived Independantly and completely unknown to me and booked his own room when we celebrated my BD! First I knew was when he used the house phone to wish me Happy Returns, then arrived at the room door 2 mins later (having apologised for not being there!). Put me in my place, especially as he flew, and we had driven down:confused3
DW and I have been haunting the DIS boards since May, and when the tickets arrived last week have started planning for real, and using printer ink and paper like there is no tomorrow, hoping to maximise our experience (and justify the higk cost of the UK transfer). Just wildly envious of those who live a few short hours from the magic, and can plan multiple yearly trips. Sadly not very practical for us, airfares and limited budgets etc.
Initial plans to 'hit the parks' include EMH on the Sat at AK, as hopefully the rest of the world will have had a late night on the 4th, and we shall doubtless be up early due to time changes & body clocks, etc, then a break (TL?) and the evening shows at MK to ensure we feel part of the magic.
Sunday maybe take a break to recover, then onwards and upwards (Infinity and beyond?) as we become more adjusted to the ways of the US and the parks. Will fill in more plans as the last few days tick by, and family input becomes more insistant!
