4D Park hopper added to room key for 1 night stay?

Hi,
I'd like to buy 4 day park hopper tickets (NOT UPH or PH plus) and get the advance purchase price. We have made reservations for AKL for 1 night on 9/18. We will checkout 9/19 and go to an off-site hotel. Then start park visits on 9/20. Can we order to PH tickets with our AKL reservation and have them added to our room keys? I'd like to keep up with the plastic cards and have less paper to deal with.
Has anyone used park hoppers on a room key after they checkout?
What would you do?

You can buy your tickets at a Disney Store and they will be plastic (a little bit thinner than room key,though)

this is what we just did
i would rather have plastic also
i think that these will work good for us, so you might want to try it

The answer is yes and no.

If you order the PHs when you make your reservation, you will get the advance purchase price but they will bill you for the tickets immediately and mail them to you. Your only other option would be having the tickets put on will call. But you still won't be able to either pick them up at your resort or have them encoded onto your resort ID.

If you wait until you arrive at the resort and purchase the tickets at check in, you will pay the higher gate price for them but they can then be encoded onto your resort ID for you. Only tickets purchased at the resort can be encoded onto the resort ID.

The checkout date from the resort has no bearing on the PH or PHP park admission days on the resort ID. Unused days will still be good forever. You just use that old resort ID at the gates just as you would use a paper ticket.

The Disney Store has the best deal out there on advance purchase 4 day hoppers. They are plastic. I didn't find it at all a problem having the hoppers and the room key separate.

The only pre-sold tickets that will be encoded onto your room key will be the Ultimate Park Hopper. All other pre-sold tickets will be separate.

Thanks. That's exactly what I needed to know. It does seem silly to me that they would waste paper and printing and postage by keeping all tickets separate from rrom keys except the UPH. But then, a lot of what "they" do doesn't always make sense to me. But if that's the way it is then I guess I'll do will call or the Disney Store thing.

One reason why Disney likes to keep the Park Hoppers separate from the UPH tickets is that Park Hoppers never expire. When they are printed on the room keys, there is no indication that they are on there, and at glance might look as if they expire when the guest checks out.

The UPH tickets have a separate date on the side of the room key that say when they are good for.

By having them separate, guests know exactly what their tickets are, and can save them for a future visit.

I just bought 5-day PH tickets today but AAA has the best price. Their cost was $238 and it included the tax.
The tickets are paper but it doesn't bother me because they were cheaper so I'll deal.

Also try this place officialticketcenter.com 877-406-4836, they do not publish the PH prices on the internet, but their PHP tickets are the cheaper than AAA ($3-$5 per hopper)
