44 Days out I was assigned our GTY Room, Never happened before

I received about 6 emails today with my reservation confirmation. I didnt really read over each one because they looked just like the ones I received earlier in the week when I booked the cruise June 6-13 Alaska. When I went to try and book dining for the millionth time it said my stateroom which is category 9D, doesnt say GTY anymore. Room 1042. Was really hoping for a little better. We are just happy to be going but usually you move up a little.

Lucky you for getting your assignment so early, and for not being stuck in a handicap stateroom. The reviews for this room are good- you did well. DCL doesn't typically "move you up" for free.

We are 34 days out and still no room assignment

We have been moved up before so I guess that got our hopes up. Usually they assign our room a week or two before sailing. This has been on my wishlist for a long time so its all good.

I have never sailed GTY before - so not sure what to expect - I’d just like to know our room assignment sooner vs later. I didn’t know if could be as close to sailing as a week!

Our first *GT cruise, we didn't know our room until we checked in at the port. Now, we weren't home to check emails/reservation status for the 3 days preceding the cruise, so I don't know if it was actually on the reservation before that.

Category GTYs such as 9D GTY have typically been assigned earlier than the generic *GT staterooms.
