This trip I have proven to my boys that even during Spring Break at Disney, if you get up early, you can do everything you want, multiple times, with no wait. We are walking down the hall at AKL about 8 a.m. and see all the newspapers still sitting outside all of the doors. DS 14 grins and says "Big Mistake". I then point to the next one and say "tactical error". DH gets the next one with "Ooh, thats gonna cost ya!" We come up with endless ways to point out the mistakes as we make our way down to our junky breakfast.
Off to Epcot to do the biggies. We do test track multiple times (no surprise there!) then talk the boys into Mission Space. DS 10 screams "oh my god, let me out, let me out!" as the capsule closes in... I feel like the ultimate bad Mommy until... he says "oh my god, let me out let me out... this is SO COOL!" As soon as the rocket launches, he loves it! We all love it so much we go back and do it again. We learned an important lesson... one time great, two times oookie. We wonder why Mission Space is always a walk on. Is Disney disappointed? Are people just afraid because of all the scary warnings (not to mention the barf bags in the capsule!) Is it because it is not really a ride you can do over and over? We have heard the rumor that they have toned it down, but DH and I were "testers" before it opened, and it seems the same (except the barf bags are new!)
Now we bus it off to the studios. On the main street we run into street performers. No one has noticed them. Madge and Barney (or something like that) are wearing matching velour warm up suits, she has giant hair and he has the worst rug you have ever seen. His pants are pulled up to his armpits. They are sitting on folding chairs on the sidewalk. I go up and ask them what they are doing. "We are waiting for the parade to start". I ask what time the parade starts. "3:30". It is 11. "Aren't you a little early?" It goes on from there. Very funny and a crowd gathers. These are the wonderful Disney moments! We go to Millionaire and yes, I suck at the 1st fastest finger thing... I panic. But I recover and end up as #1 on the board. Then miss the next question. Geometry... please. We then go to the backstage tour and my DH, Mr. Friendly, gets picked to be the guy who gets soaked in the control room during the Pearl Harbor sequence. Classic!
We are tired by this time, so we decide to get a nap in. We ride the Great Movie Ride. Now well rested, we do Millionaire again. DS 10 gets second on the board.
Home to AKL for pool time. We then clean up and decide to take a taxi (yeay!) to boardwalk for dinner at ESPN. We wait an hour for a good dinner and snotty service. Taxi (yeay!) home. It's been a long disney day
