As I post this, the DIS has 399,574 "members."
Refining my method from prior attempts, I started collecting data for the 400,000 milestone in April but some anomalous data and the trip to Italy sidelined my observations. (I decided to collect new membership data at midnight EDT which was 6 am CEST and there was no way I was getting up at 6 am while on vacation.)
The observations I made the week before leaving for Italy (i.e., the week before May 22) were projecting 400,000 members either late in the day on June 13 or early June 14. New member enrollments have picked up somewhat, likely attributable to the end (or approaching end) of the school year. The latest rough projections are for 400,000 on June 13, sometime in the morning.
As before, I'm counting quantity, not quality.
