40% off code question and starting trip on last day of the code

I know it used to be whatever the check in day deal was you had for the trip - but I thought I read that they don't do that anymore.

DH got one of the 40% off codes BUT one of the periods ends on 9/27 - which is our date of arrival - 9/27-10/4. Can I use this code- or am I out of luck - BTW I booked thru AAA - we have a MYW package right now - but we were considering adding dining but not sure if we will do that. We can't change our dates to the week before - we have our plane tickets and for work reasons DH needs to go the week we have planned for billing reasons.

If it doesn't work for our trip - could they apply it for the one night?

Honestly, we've been told that people have been able to do as you ask.. but the best way to know for sure is to call the Disney Reservation Center and ask. They will tell you.

The discount codes never worked that way, the codes (like the Disney Visa codes) required that the trip be booked during the dates applied. I can tell you that this PIN code that jsut came out ONLY works for those dates, I just called this morning when I saw a post that stated they were going Dec 6th with the code, but the CM told me that he couldn't process that with the pin code, that the dates has specfic black out dates and the 6th was on, could only us the code for dates that are listed- for me the the dec 7-17.

I was able to book last year starting on the last day of the code.

I would call and ask, it never hurts to try!

I know with free dining we are checking in the last day it was availbable (Sept 27th) for a 7 night trip. We have free dining for the whole trip. HTH!

My SIL just tried to do this and they would not honor it past the specific dates. Went to regular rack rate after that.

I was wondering the same thing. Waiting anxiously for your response or anyones response who knows. I am already booked with free dining bounceback offer, but also received the 40% off mailer on Friday.

I had the same problem. Code was good through Feb 12th or something. Our vacation was planned Feb 10 - 16. I thought there'd be no harm in asking, at the least we could save a little money on the first few days.

But we got the promotion for the entire week.

Like I said, there's no harm in asking.

For the poster who got the code for the entire week....are you sure you actually got the discount the entire time or did they just price it for you for the entire time and then the remaining dates were at rack. I'd be sure to look at the daily rate or ask about the daily rate. I'm just glad it doesn't restrict anyone from booking their entire timeframe.---Kathy

Remember.. for this to work at all.. your check IN date, must fall within the discounted rate dates. If your check-IN date is outside the dates, you won't get the promotional discount and you'll need to break your reservation into two in order to get it at all.

In years past, you have been able to check IN on a date within the promotional dates and have your trip extend the past the offer dates and get the discount on the whole trip.

Seems to be conflicting stories on that this year.

So.. CALL AND CHECK would be the primary advice.

EXACT same for us. We went to WDW on June 1 and got the 40% discount for our entire 10-day trip. It was awesome, but very crowded!
