40 Margaritas - The 40th Birthday Celebration - Pre Trippie Updated 25th February

your plans sound Fab :goodvibes

Please dont be scared for the Churchills, I am sure we will stick to water and soft drinks.

HELL NO! I think we may have the makings of an 11 drink special my little welsh dragon - I hope that Ian's new hat will fit on his drinking head as it may be needed:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We fly with Virgin at 10.25am, so will hopefully get to Orlando a bit earlier than we normally do when flying from Gatwick.
This is a real upside of flying from Manchester. I really must remember to consider it in future. I always say I will, but forget when it comes to booking!

I'm very envious about the Dream. It looks amazing. It seems that Disney has taken the time to get it right; taking an already pretty fantastic concept, smoothing over the rough edges and adding some better-than-ever touches. That inside cabin is quite lovely, and I really do think I could be happy with that for a short cruise.

The concept of the Enchanted Garden is one that only Disney could dream up/get away with. Having cruised on the Wonder, my expectations of the food in the main dining rooms wouldn't be particularly high, but it almost doesn't matter because the experience itself makes up for it. Needless to say, the thought of Remy's has me positively salivating!

For me, Disney is right on the money with the adults-only offerings of pool, bars and beach at Castaway Cay. I'm hugely impressed that they've extended the bar options. With Remy's in the mix, too, the latest breed of DCL ship is looking increasingly attractive.

Very envious of your stay at BLT. Like you, I want to stay for The Top of the World bar as much as anything else! Actually, we may have to visit you on one of your nights there! :thumbsup2

This is where it all goes a little bit pear shaped, I have booked the Holiday Inn at The Gateway to Universal, but for some reason the nearer it gets the more I want to cancel! I have spent most of this week looking at hotels near Universal, and am frankly getting nowhere. I really want to stay at The Royal Pacific, I love it there, but I don't like the rate at the moment. Anyway, I am sure I will find somewhere soon, and things will come together..
Holiday Inn, Schmoliday Inn! Just book RPR and have done with it, my little Welsh Crumpet. You know you want to!

The Churchills will be in Orlando for some of the time that we are there, and we are both desperately hoping there will be time for some drinkies round the world, so plans would be changed for then..

The one thing that never changes is the Margarita consumption, and the laughs - heres hoping that remains the same for this trip...
The two are inextricably linked! :love1:

Dear Jules,
I am so relieved to read that you have a wonderful plan in place with a packed itinerary and a lineup of supportive friends, who with your dependable husband, will get you through this dreadful birthday. 40--the end of all life as you have known it! I chose to sidestep that ruinous birthday and am happy to say I am still 39 (with several (??) years experience). I do so admire your courage in facing this horror head on. Have fun--while you still can!! Susan

Jellyrolls watch out!!

They will get me through Susan, I am so lucky to have them, I intend to make the most of it in case all the fun goes down the pan from here on!

There have been a few small updates.

The first I've been able to get a table at Palo for our last night, and have bought a frock for the occasion, yes you read correctly me in a frock!!!

The dreaded Holiday Inn has been cancelled and the DoubleTree Universal booked in its place for the grand sum of £88, I am sure there is a mistake there somewhere, but hey ho, I have my confirmation. We stayed at the DoubleTree our first Christmas trip and both loved it, it was the hotel with the comfiest of comfy beds, so happy with that.

I realised that I hadn't in fact booked a flydrive, but flight only, can you imagine if I had turned up at Dollar demanding a car that didn't exist. I put this right earlier in the week, and booked through Alamo, so now we have wheels, will travel..

And finally, Narcoossees has been cancelled, who needs almond cheesecake, when I can have Deb and Matt Churchill. Via Napoli has been swapped to Narcoosees night and Via Napoli original night replaced with Tutto, which will bring back wonderful memories of happy times with Mr and Mrs Mandy Mouse. After dinner at Via Napoli, we will hit Jellyrolls with Matt and Deb, a recipe for disaster if ever I thought of one, will be sure to visit Wallmart first to stock up on hangover cures!

Thanks everyone for reading so far,and your lovely comments ..

Well I have finally got here and read your pre trippie, first many sorrys for being so late, but most importantly I read it before you left and got back, so not all bad:rotfl2: Your plans sounds wonderful hon, and Im sure you will have the holiday of a lifetime to celebrate your birthday. Not long now!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Nothing better than a 'recipe for disaster' if you ask me :rotfl: Got to love meeting up with good friends while on holiday, I hope you all have a fab time ::yes::

Sounds perfectly pleasurable from end-to-end, Jules. Please have a margarita, for me, will you? (And Deb - you can have one, as well!)

Have an incredibly Happy 40th Birthday celebration! (I know this is a bit of an oxymoron, but the wishes sent are of the good variety.)
