Hello all....

I am Pooh-sized, and started Weight Watchers 2 weeks ago. I've also started exercizing again...

My question - we have 40 days until our 8 day trip to the house of Mouse in Orlando - do I have enough time to get in shape for walking around the parks???

You can gain some level of fitness between now and then....

Depends on how pooh you are. If you are active now and have no issue with moving around all day, then 40 days will be no issue. If you spend all day watching Regis, Oprah and Judy then you may need to have a break or two in the afternoon.

Not sure what you plan is but I would look at something like the couch to 5k plan for running/walking a 5k. Disregard the timing and running part and just follow the schedule. Again, depending on how Poohey you are, you may not get through until the end REGARDLESS, it will push you significantly further than you are today. Do take 1-2 days off a week for recovery. Strength and improvements are made through recovery not the actual work.

Also, look to do a little strength work to help with the metabolism.

You larger issue will be dealing with the humidity. Coming from WI, you will feel like you fell into an oven the first couple days. Hydrate. Wear light colored clothing and a wide brimmed hat. Do not feel like you have to blast through the parks between 1 and 4 - its just plain hot

Thanks for the reply! I can usually do a day at a renfaire without any problems...I'm somewhere between active all day and couch potato.

I have been reading about FL in August - I have Brita water bottles for the gang, and have plans to get up for rope drop and then head back to the hotel in the afternoon...

I'm somewhate Pooh sized...maybe a bit bigger. :) We are going to Orlando in 76 days and the last time I did Disney, I was hurting every night....BIG TIME. So, my plan is to walk (either outside or on the treadmill...aka clothes hanger.:rotfl:) every day and watch and log what I eat.

I'm being realistic. I don't expect to be a skinny bellini or anywhere near that. But, I do think this will help me feel better and maybe even do more without feeling so exhausted, sweaty, and painful like last time.

Also, if you do any walking, maybe wear the shoes you plan on wearing to the parks, to break them in and get used to them. There is nothing as worse as a big old blister on your feet after the first day in a park.:sad1:

Good luck!!!!! I love that these boards has the WISH boards! Awesome idea!!

Well, there's no reason NOT to try, really :)

Sure, go for it! Start walking around the block and cut out processed foods and fried crap, stop drinking sodas. Hydrate like cewait mentioned.

Anything will help!
