We will also be using this trip celebrate the life of my father who passed away in February from early onset Alzheimers at the age of 62 and one of our last family trips was to Disney.
We are going September 8th- September 13th. We are staying at a the Beach Club Villas in a one bedroom. This will be our first time at the Beach Club and in a Villa. The idea of being able to walk to Epcot and Storm Along Bay were two big deciding factors on staying at the Beach Club. During a May trip I upgraded to an AP and found a great discount to the Villas, so we upgraded. This also allowed all of us to stay in one room and have plenty of space. The kitchen and the washer and dryer are big pluses with two little ones.
We decided to go with the Deluxe Dining Plan. I know it is a lot of food, but we enjoy sit down meals over quick service and I find it easier to handle with two little ones. We also like that the meals are prepaid for beside for the tip. As of right now we have ADRs at Akershus (Dinner), Garden Grill (Breakfast), Ohana (Dinner), Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White (Dinner), Yatchman Steakhouse (Dinner), Trattoria al Forno (Breakfast), Yak and Yeti (Dinner) and Cape May (Breakfast). I am sure some of these will change, but as of right this is our plan. We tried to do a balance of character meals and non character meals. We are looking forward to eating at the booths at Food and Wine too. During our trip in May Ellie’s favorite princess was Snowwhite, so I am excited we will be going back to Storybook Dining. Amy has loved the Little Mermaid since she was a child, so Trattoria al Forno will be a great experience for.
We do have a few special events planned on both our arrival day and departure day we have rented a cabana at Storm Along Bay. We arrive at MCO by 8:30am and booked a half day cabana 10am-2pm. This will give us a home base and place for the kids to relax while enjoying the pool. On our departure day we have a full day rental of the cabana as our flight does not depart until 8pm. I think that this bit of a splurge will be a great way to start and end the trip. September will still be very warm and having a covered area with two chaise lounges for the kids to rest on along with the adults is great. Ellie loves swimming and being able to be in and out of the water will be her dream.
Ellie and I will also be attending attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. I have never attended any sort of special event, so this will be a new experience for us. I know we will not make it all night, but I am hopefully we can meet a few special characters, try special treats, do a bit of trick or treating and watch the early parade. I am still thinking about costumes. I am fairly certain she will be Snow White as for me I am unsure.
We will be there just after Star Wars Land opens, but we will not be going to Hollywood Studios at all during this trip. However it does mean that there are a lot of morning extra magic hours. Both Ellie and Henry like to get up early, so this may work to our advantage. We do have an itinerary however since we are travelling with 2 toddlers we are going to be flexible. Our goal is just to have an adventure in Disney World with family.
