The Cast... Myself, DH, 2 DSs 3 & 6, and our neighbors, 2 adults, and 2 DSs, 4 & 6. We stayed at ASMO and were very happy there. The other couple hadnt been in 17 years and their kids had never gone, so they wanted to do whatever I planned...no pressure there. ;)

Tuesday 8/26

Our original plan for today was to do Epcot in the morning, take a pool/lunch break, then go back for the evening. We ended up changing this a little as we didnt really need the break.

After breakfast at the food court and arriving at the bus stop by 8:15, we were in line at Epcot by 8:45. At opening we went straight to Test Track. Here we did the child swap as only 2 of the kids could ride. The first couple had a 15 minute wait to get in and by the time we all had ridden it was almost 10:00. We then headed over to The Wonders Of Life Pavillion. We wanted to see Cranium Command but it was having technical difficulties. The kids played in the Fitness Fairground while the other couple went on Body Wars. By the time they got off BW, CC was up and running so we caught the first showing of that. Next it was on to The Universe Of Energy. Here we had about a 15 minute wait in the sun, which the kids didnt like, but it was worth it. The show was enjoyed by all. By now we were all hungry and this was when we decided we would be better off staying at Epcot instead of leaving to take a break. We walked ½ way around World Showcase together, then my family decided to go to the Liberty Inn (one of DH’s favorites because they serve Sam Adams) for lunch, while the other family opted for a sit down meal at Alfredos. We decided we would split up for a while then.

After lunch the other family went to the Living Seas and Innoventions (where we ended up meeting up with them later). We too went to the Living Seas, but also to the Land, for Food Rocks, and Imagination for Journey Into Your Imagination and the What If Labs. We took a break and had Beavertails on a bench in the shade, and took a stroll through Ice Station Cool. Then it was on to Innoventions where we met up with the others. The kids explored here for a while (we did both East & West), then we decided we were heading back to the hotel. It was after 5:00 by now. The other family went to check out Fort Wilderness (they enjoy camping), while we grabbed a bite at the food court and took a dip in the pool.

I know a lot of people say there isn’t much for kids at Epcot, but I find there is a ton that my kids enjoy there. There is so much exploring to be done and my kids enjoy anything that they can get involved in. Whether it was smelling the foods in the Land or making their own paper at Innoventions they were having a ball. I pretty much rushed the kids through to do a little bit of a lot of different things, but we could have easily spent a lot more time exploring stuff in depth.

our kids enjoyed the places and things to smell....eat and drink too....thanks so much for your report

I think the key with kids is to not make Epcot into something it isn't. If they know there's a lot of cool stuff to explore and play with, you're set....if they are expecting a ton of rides, you have problems. Sonds like a good time was had by all.

Thats a good point, GreatBiscuit! My kids dont like thrill rides, and while they do enjoy the easier rides, thats not all that Disney is about to them. They have gone enough now to know what to expect in Epcot and they really look forward to going there. Its probably their second favorite park after the MK.

My DD loves innoventions. we could spend the whole day there. There is always so much to see and do that we sometimes just rush by things so we can see as much of epcot

My kids who are 8 & 10 loved Epcot. They could have stayed in Japan all day watching the oysters being opened for pearls. We also went with friends who thanked me for planning the trip!

Wonderful trip report ~ Thanx for sharing!!!
