4 Nights of Sweet DREAMS! 10/20/13

we are also staying the night before at Disney SSR and staying there after the cruise Disney transportation from resort usually picks up around 10am - 12 noon depending on your resort and you get to the port around 1:30 depending on traffic.

Nassu is not that bad it has some nice locations for site seeing and some really good shopping just out side of the port. most people just hit the beaches or Atlantis we usually just walk around see the shops and than back to the boat. As for getting sea sick my DW get sea sick fast but she use's the sea patch you put behind your ear she puts it on both ears the night before the cruise and is perfectly fine unless there is some major waves. we caught a Disney cruise with some really bad weather were the waves would empty the pool.

We are coming on the cruise and want to participate in the FE gift exchange but I can't send a private message because I don't have enough posts. :(

Here is our info without the stateroom number:

Here is the update for September 1, 2013. Please send me any corrections.

This is the list of disboarders who are sailing and who will likely come together for a meet and greet during the cruise. This is based upon those who have posted on the thread. Please do not confuse this with the FE participants list which is a smaller number of cabins based upon their desire to participate.

last update: 1 September 2013[/QUOTE]

Just wanted to know if we are officially closing
The FE group today or keeping it open until
September 20

FE UPDATE FOR SEPTEMBER 1, 2013

SIGN UP FOR THIS FE HAVE NOW REACHED CAPACITY.However, I will continue to take names to form a second FE group until the original posted deadline in order to accommodate late arrivals to the thread.

For all of you "first timers", here's an explanation of a "Fish Extender Gift Exchange" that I have modified from a tablemate on my April 2012 cruise who is also a Platinum Castaway Club Member and active DIS-er. Thanks to DebT!

Beside every cabin door is a large metal silver fish (or starfish or seahorse) with an indentation in the back for cruise personnel to leave information, invitations, etc. Teenagers receive invitations to Teen Club activities and we've also received "rebooking onboard" price quotes tucked in our fish.

DISboarders have taken the silver fish (starfish, seahorse) one step further... by creating hanging pockets (much like cloth letter holders) to hang from the fish (or starfish, or seahorse) - thus the name, "Fish Extender". The Fish Extenders (FEs) can be made of practically anything (cloth, plastic, paper gift bags, etc.), as long as they have at least one pocket that can hold surprises. Many are personalized with the names of those in the cabin and there are even sellers on ebay who will create them for you.

On each "Cruise Meets" thread (such as this 10-20-13 one) someone usually organizes a little gift exchange during the cruise. So folks, this time around that someone is me! People sign up by giving their cabin number, names of everyone in their cabin, and ages of the kids so that everyone will know how many goodies to bring and where to deliver them. Some people give one gift per family, some people give a little gift to each person. It's totally up to the giver to decide what to give and when to give it during the cruise.

There are several threads on the main cruise boards that discuss ideas for FE gifts. Some gifts are from Dollar Stores, some are handmade, and some are bought in bulk from websites that sell trinkets like the Oriental Trading Company. Often, they are stickers, candy, glow sticks, lanyards, etc., with themes such as pirates, beach, cruise, tropical, hometown, holiday, etc. The main idea is just to have fun finding little goodies in your FE throughout the cruise. Kids LOVE running back to their cabin to see if anything's been left in their FE. As an adult, I have to admit that I love it, too!!!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Also, this thread has tons of info and ideas about FE Gift Exchanges: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607

I speak from personal experience that it really is a LOT of fun to participate!

So for our FE group I am opening up the sign up at this very moment!
To sign up, send me the following details via Private Message here on the DIS Boards

DIS Board name
Names of each person participating
Ages of each person under 18 who is participating
Stateroom #
Contact email address

On the thread here I will maintain a list of participants only by DIS-Board name. The sensitive material such as stateroom number will only be shared with the participants.

Based on feedback, this group has been closed at 20 participants that just happened to fall on September 1 which was another request for cutting it off. So everyone currently involved gets their wish.

The main point of this is to have some fun while on board as well as having some fun in the preparation and anticipation of the cruise ahead. So let's have fun!

Christopher

Hello to both new posters.

I have included you on the FE list with the details that you have shared. I will send you a private message that will include an email address where you can send the full details so that I can complete the spreadsheet and send it out to everyone involved.

:welcome: aboard!!

Christopher

Please add me to the FE group.

Should I provide all information on this post, or is there a way to send the information privately?

Other than budget planning, are there advantages to pre-purchasing the photo package?

Please add me to the FE group for the Oct 20 Dream!

I am not sure if I can submit the answers to the questions through private post or if I need to post them to the forum.

I am just coming up to speed on the FE group and have a question.

Generally speaking, how many gifts does one plan for? Do people plan to give a gift or two to everyone on the list? Or one to one person? Or several to several people? What is a common approach to this?

Thanks,
Katie

I got your info via Private Message and have added you as the start of the FE Group 2. I am sure there will be others that join in before we sail.

I have never done the pre purchase but have been considering it for this time as it seems to be more in line with the Disney's Photo Pass program which I have pre purchased before. Rumors still abound that Photo PAss will take over the ships photo program at some point. Perhaps this is a way to move in that direction.

Please add me to the FE group for the Oct 20 Dream!

DONE! :cool1: ANd I have also added you and your party to the Roll Call

This is different by participant. And I can say I have done different things for different cruises. One time I did something more elaborate for a cabin door decoration then other cruises where I did smaller items each day for each individual. I think that is the direction that I am heading this time. There are lots of ideas floating around out there and you can make it as elaborate or simple as you wish. The idea is to have fun and hopefully meet some people from other places.

I give out a gift bag to each stateroom with a few things in it. I also do separate gift bags for all the kids. Mostly I use Disney and pirate related items for my gifts. It's my understanding that you give at least on gift per stateroom to all those on your FE list.

Not new to Disney Cruises, but new to the FE program and very excited about the Halloween cruise coming up! I sent a PM to the organizer of the FE program. Thank you!!

Very new to this forum, so forgive me if this is in the wrong area.....I am looking for a facebook group for the Dream Oct 20-24th 2013. Anybody know if one exists? I can't seem to find one.
Thanks!
