4 Night Wonder out of Miami (update 3/1-Complete)

I'm glad you got the room! I'll have to put that in my phone so I don't forget. I'll be out there at the DLR quite a bit in that one month period. Between the D23 Expo, Ellen's trip, your trip and PIO's trip, I'll be visiting a bunch!

I have to admit I was semi disappointed I could book a studio, I was prepared to get a 1BR I just couldn't commit to using twice the points when a studio was available.

I've gotten so OVER that. I can blame it on the fact that we "need" a one bedroom because we can't "risk" Fran's side of the bed being the one with no space to walk back and forth and not have a nightstand. But my real reason is I don't want to live without the jacuzzi tub. VGC is one of those with 2 bathrooms in the one bedroom, so we love that even though it's not really necessary, it sure is nice! We also like having the full fridge and dishwasher even if we don't actually use the kitchen, but more often than not we do actually use the kitchen, but I'm just weird that way!

Congrats on getting your studio. Now you need to put in the requests!

I've been lurking on your TR for a few days now. I'm loving the pictures! Pictures always make TR's so much fun! We're sailing the Wonder again in March, so seeing all of your pictures gets me very excited for our trip!

We are DVC also and are going to DL in July. I also booked the studio but REALLY wanted the 1 bedroom. Like you, I just couldn't bring myself to spend the points. I'll just be so excited to get back to DL that I'm hoping I won't notice that I don't have the 1 bedroom!

The whole cruise I wished I had signed up for a bamboo massage. That's on the list for March, I'm not going to make the same mistake twice. You must get them next time, it is so relaxing in there I'll definitely be getting the Rainforest passes again.

Graham has had the bamboo massage before and loved it. I am more of a hot stones or even better hot lava shells girl.

That jacuzzi tub was the real draw that's for sure! Biggest problem is I don't want to borrow from 2014 and right now I still have enough for a potential two week trip in March without borrowing. But if I borrow I could just borrow from the next year or just do another kind of vacation. Oh the tribulations I face! as you can see I'm still on the fence about it.

Oh no, what kind of requests do I need to make? Theme park view? I did some research on VGC but that was months ago. It seems I've forgotten most of it already

Hi Sarah! Welcome you must try a cruise. I have fallen head over heels in love with them. All the magic of a Disney vacation but with everything within short walking distance.

Welcome Susan! Glad you came out of lurkdom what itinerary will you be doing? I absolutely loved the Wonder!

I'm still so torn about the 1BR. It will be a solo trip so I'm thinking I should just go ahead and spoil myself, but on the other hand could get a whole other week of vacation if I save the points. This will be my first time to DL and I'm super excited.

I'm so excited! I think the main reason I picked September was the lower points. I haven't done any research on temperature though so hopefully it won't be as scorching as FL in September. The second reason, please don't laugh, is that I've decided I need something to look forward to every three months and this time frame needed filling you can laugh if you want, it's a pretty self indulgent plan. my dates are 9/3-9/9. I have to work 9/2 which is Labor Day so it'll be a Tuesday to Monday trip.

If you do later September/October you can catch all the Halloween festivities. I had requested the next week off but my boss denied it. I'm just happy she approved any dates

She put the lava stones on our arms and they felt amazing! I've never heard of hot lava shells, same idea as the stones?

That's why we ended up buying so many points was so that we could always do one bedrooms. I am a jacuzzi freak and take a tub every night when we stay DVC!

On the VGC thread Nonsuch has come up with a great laundry list of room numbers to request in order for all room type categories. For WDW DVCs they do not like you to ask for room numbers but at VGC since there are so few rooms, they actually have found it helpful in assigning rooms to go through the numbers in order and see what is available.

If you want just find the VGC thread on the resorts section and either search the thread or ask, he is on there often to answer that question and has posted it numerous times. You can decide from the list if you agree on the order of requests. He has also added a map with room numbers and views, just poke around a bit and click on the links in his signature for a complete map.

The 04 rooms are the best, I think but only for the 4-6th floors. I've stopped asking for requests there since we've stayed so many times, but for your first time, I would try to get the best room possible.

I am interested to read what you did in Key West. We just went down to Key West in January, my family who live in AZ were on Magic 8 night from Gal, so we met them for their Key West day and did trolley excursion with them. I am thinking of touring the Truman little White house. At Castaway Cay I have the snorkel with sting rays, we do that every time. I think I will do massage with my hubby on Nassau day and we have rain forest pass too. Since I now live in Florida, not such a big deal to do beaches etc, I will concentrate on being on the ship
