4 ME tags - 1 person - can I fly down case of water?

A friend, her DD & myself are flying down to FL from Boston. Im the only 1 using ME upon arrival. I received 4 ME luggage tags. Can I use 1 of her allowed bags for the flight and put an ME tag on it (besides using my 2)? We're thinking of either sending down food or a case of water.

That's up to your airline. DME will transport anything that the airlines will handle.

You are one ticketed passenger. You (personally) cannot check more than one passenger's baggage allowance with the airline without paying an extra bag fee.

As to whether or not you could label the package with your name if a different passenger checks the bag with the airline -- yes, that you can do. DH and I often forget to change out the business cards in our luggage tags, and the airline really does not care whose name is on the luggage, so long as the routing barcode strip identifies the passenger who checked it. So if ME rules allows one passenger to have 3 transported bags, you could probably get away with it.

To quote Tyler, "DME will transport anything that the airlines will handle." If you get 4 DME tags all with your name on them, you could use all 4 as far as the Disney computers are concerned. Hey, you could check 10 bags for yourself with your airline, you'd just have to pay the airline extra for it. There's no way for Disney to know if you paid your airline for a 3rd bag or not, so it seems like it should be smooth sailing for you.

NOTE: Make sure you're being accurate when you say "you" got 4 DME tags. Each DME tag has 2 names, the "master" or "main" name on the reservation, and also the name of the exact passenger/guest. So for my party of 4, we got 8 DME tags. All 8 had my name on them. Two had my name twice, two had my name and my wife's name, etc. Just be sure that 2 of your 4 tags don't have both your name AND someone else's name. If that's the case, "you" will only be able to use the 2 that have ONLY your name on them.

i just doublechecked and there's definately 4 with my name on them. 2 have my name twice, 2 have my name only once - whats with that?
