4 Hot Mamas take on the World 9/2011! *UPDATE 8/31* I'm leaving TODAY!!!

(We haven't even purchased our park tickets yet, LOL!)

I hit the mall today because I wanted to get a new bag to carry inside the parks. On previous trips, I've carried a crossbody messenger-type bag, but wanted something smaller for this trip. Since my kids won't be with me, I don't have to carry around as much... all I'll need are the essentials (no extra snacks for 4 people, no baby wipes, no extra pair or two of sunglasses, etc!)

So here's my new bag... the "Rachel" by Vera Bradley:

bag.jpg

I absolutely love it. I'm a huge Vera Bradley fan (I do live in the South, after all) and I think this bag will be perfect! The little travel Coach wallet is one I've had for a few years and will work great with this bag.

What I plan on packing inside my new bag:

Disney gift card(s), cash, I.D., park tickets

sunglasses/case

phone

camera

migraine Rx (something I never go anywhere without!)

If there is room, I may add a small cosmetic bag for things like lip balm, anti-bacterial hand gel, band-aids, etc.

What do you carry with you inside the parks?

Loving the new bag! I have always wanted one but somehow seem to always fall for a Dooney at disney:goodvibes... and the anti-bacterial hand gel is a MUST! Bath and Body has those really tiny ones... they fit most anywhere!

Cute bag! I love the pattern! I'm thinking of buying a VB bag for my trip, but I'm not sure which one! :confused3 I got a mini hipster for my last trip, but I didn't end up using it, because it was too small, so I want something bigger, but it seems like the hipsters are too big!

I'd love a Disney D&B bag... maybe I'll just have to treat myself to one when I go in September and call it an early birthday present to myself!

And yes, I really should include a B&BW hand gel to my packing list.

That's exactly why I went with this bag! The mini hipster is too small... there is absolutely no way I'd be able to carry everything I'd need. And the hipster isn't that much smaller than the bag I've carried in the past. I wanted something in between the mini hipster and hipster, and I think this one fits the bill.

Am glad you had a great day shopping! Love the VB bag and your right - that is a good size bag to take to the parks :thumbsup2

That's a great bag!:thumbsup2
I'm not sure what I will carry with me, I can't even remember what I carried last time. I will definately have the camera, but not in my purse/bag/fammy pack. I have an iphone that I'd like to have with me, not for the cel phone use, but more for the notes, apps, etc. I"m not sure how that works though, if I have the phone on will I get charged roaming fees?

Thanks! I think it will work fabulously. And I absolutely love the new print!

I'll be using my phone in the parks for the apps, too, but I have no idea if there are roaming fees for that or not...

Check with your cell carrier to verify your plan. A lot of carriers moved away from the "local" calling plans. If you have a National calling plan, you shouldn't have any roaming fees - but it never hurts to double check and verify so you don't get any surprises when the bill comes! :thumbsup2

Here's another photo from my family's 2010 trip:

This one was taken during our breakfast at The Crystal Palace. And I honestly think it could be my absolute favorite photo of the hundreds we took that week!

I was trying to get a photo of my oldest DD with Tigger. Both were posing nicely when, just as I pushed the button on my camera to take the picture...

Tigger decided to come in for an extreme close-up!

We all had a good laugh over Tigger's silliness and this still remains as one of my oldest DD's favorite Disney memories!

Love the pic and the story behind it! :thumbsup2

I was reading another TR recently which also mentioned about Tigger hijacking all the limelight - will have to see if he does the same when we see him!

Just catching up on your plans, all the ideas for your Mom's birthday sound great. Whatever you decide to do I'm sure it will be a fantastic day for her.

Love the new bag (so weird, I was just out looking at new bags today!) The last couple of trips DH has been the designated bag carrier and has taken his backpack with him everywhere, and I'm usually the one with all the camera equipment! This year I really want to take my own bag, something small just to carry all the usual essentials without having to search the endless pockets on DH bag but so far I'm having no luck finding anything that's 'just right'.

Love love love love love love LOVE (did I mention LOVE? yeah, probably didn't.. so... ) LOVE THIS PICTURE.

Sorry, Tigger is a fave of mine.

Thanks, guys! I love it, too. I hope Tigger does something like this again during our CP breakfast!

I'm finding myself very glad we added a CP breakfast to our final day at WDW. Love all the 100 Acre Wood characters!:thumbsup2

I should be able to get with my sister this weekend to talk about our trip, so hopefully I can update this PTR with more info soon!

In the meantime, here's another random WDW photo (well, 2, actually!)

Here is my youngest DD on Cinderella's Carousel in 2007 (age 4):

I know I'm biased, but isn't she adorable? ;)
