Can I buy a 4 day pass now just to get my 60 days for my FP+ then upgrade to an AP at the gate with my Disney vacation account? Just trying to figure out I my plan will work! TIA!!!

The DVA can only be used to purchase tickets/passes in advance by phone or on-line.

The DVA is only for pre-paid expenses and can't be used on-property.

Ok good to know!

Do you know if I'll have an issue upgrading at the gate with DVC discount?

TIA!

No, you just need your DVC Member ID Card and all adults (ages 18+) need a photo id showing the same address as the member.

If the ticket was purchased at a discount (from a 3rd party like UT, for example), you need to use the ticket prior to doing the upgrade in order to get the ticket bumped up to current gate pricing (called price bridging). Also, all ticket upgrades must be done with in 14 days of first use and before the last entitlement has been used.

Just did this a few weeks ago. Had a 6 day hopper that I upgraded on our last day to an annual pass using my DVC discount. You have to have your member ID. I was only upgrading for my 2 younger kids. Since we had already used the tickets it was already bridged to the current price.

Dvc member services specifically told me we could do it when I asked a couple weeks ago and even gave me the current total for each ticket that I should be charged so that I knew how much it should be at the gate
(If you have a 4 day with park hopper like we do it is $170.40 per adult ticket and $191.70 per child ticket)

When I spoke to member services I was told only could find out at guest services. They told me what the price difference would be if everything was correct. Also, if this was the 4 day ticket offered through DVC at a discount earlier then you can not upgrade it. At least that is what we were told.

The 4-day, 4-park special ticket can be upgraded, but only to an AP.

Wow, that kind of makes me mad. I called and asked specifically if it could be upgraded and was told no. The reason I asked is because we needed to go ahead and buy tickets, but did not want to get an annual just yet. We were waiting on wether or not my son got into the DCP. Because of that we went a different ticket option. Thanks for correcting that.

It could be upgraded to a DVC annual pass; that was stated specifically in the posted terms. I think there's some confusion because you could buy the special 4-day ticket for anyone, but you can only buy a DVC annual pass for members of your household. So, there may be some cases where you couldn't technically upgrade the ticket since the holder wouldn't qualify for the DVC annual pass.
