4 consecutive 1 night reservations - am I inviting frustration?

I've been trying to get an AP reservation at POR in August, and the only way I can get every night at a discount is to book each night separately. The room type is the same every night. I called Disney, and they said that the only thing they can do is to note that it is a continuous reservation, and I should be able to stay in the same room.

Is this a bad idea? Am I going to end up having to get my magicband reconnected every day? Has anyone else tried it? If it is fairly likely that I'll have to change rooms, I'll probably stay elsewhere, but my options are really limited. I could book a continuous 4 night reservation, but then I have to pay full price for the room for one night, which just really bugs me! I've tried every combination (3 nights plus 1 night, 2 and 2...), and the only way to keep the AP discount is 4 separate reservations. The Disney reservation system is such a treat some times!

Ugh! I hate having to change rooms and been there done that. and there's no guarantee you won't have too. I suppose remind them each and every day to note your reservation. If it's so booked up does that lessen the chance to keep same room??
Then you still need to go to front desk to check out, ck back in, each day too?? Your room number if it changes also needs to be updated on each band each day if u have to move. And leaving luggage either in hold area or in ur car?? So much time!!
If it's really where you want to be and that outweighs all, you Just may have to contend with.. go ahead with 4 reservations..
Best of luck!!
Did u say u want the 4 nites and you'd have to pay 1 of those at regular price to get a continuous single reservation?
For all the possible aggravation, I'd book it that way and bite the bullet.
Then call Every day and see if u can ck that date for the discount.

Have you tried FQ?
I've never had this issue but we might split with WL next year and these are the things we're worrying about if we do the split. Good luck with what you decide to do! Following for advice!

I think they will be highly motivated to keep you in the same room.

May I ask Why?
I got bumped out and what a time waster it was, never mind annoying with bands n luggage etc. then the next room wasn't ready... the worst offense to the dh, lol.

We did this at spring break at the Boardwalk, and it was fine, but that was 3 nights and 2 nights, so it didn't feel like such a gamble. Because we had done online check-in, we actually didn't have to check in and out, either. I agree to the above poster, that it's in their best interest, too, to have us stay put. I would stay at FQ, but there is no AP discount there at all.

Call back to get a different CM, & ask again if they can help you get a single reservation for this. It can be done (typically with Guest Services' help)- they've done it for me before.

Unfortunately, the helpfulness of different phone CMs varies widely.

If they do a more thorough cleaning (like changing bedding etc) each time you check out, it will be more costly in staff time.

I have had a lot of luck with Disney keeping me in the same room when I have a split stay at the same resort. That said, you won't know until you check in.

I would place a reminder call a few days before checking in though.

Good to know! They did put Guest Services on the call, to no avail. I guess I'll push on!

We've had a couple of separate same-resort reservations and have had both experiences-once we had to move, but once we didn't. They way it was explained to us, they won't know until the time of, whether they'll be able to keep you in the same room.
