McBruns Trip Report to the World – September 2005
Recently read ZZUB’s trip report which motivated me to write mine.

4 adults + 3 girls + free dining = great Disney vacation :thumbsup2

We arrived on Saturday, September 17th – hey we very well could have run into ZZUB while we were there? We were vacationing with another family with a 5 year old Daughter (SD). We have 2 daughters 5 (JB) & 6 (MB).

We had been to Disney with this family in 2004 with separate rooms. This time round we decided to try a Villa. We’d all be in one spot and more importantly would be able to get the girls to sleep and drink together. We were originally booked for the BCV in October, but changed the dates when the FREE DISNEY DINING :) was announced.

I know a deal when I see one. We had priced out the Boardwalk (would have loved to stay there), but was a bit too much for this vacation. Checked Deb’s site out for pic’s of the BCV and with the great pool felt we made the best decision. PLUS, the walk to Epcot was amazing!

We flew in from PA on September 17th. Excited to check out Magical Express - as have read mixed reviews on this service. We figured it had been going on a few months now and all the kinks should be worked out. Our experience was somewhere in between good and bad. We were the first from our group to check in and they had our names all mixed up. Poor ‘husman’ (my nickname for hubby) was in line a LOONNNGGGGGGG time. Way longer than if we would have gotten a rental car. Finally got that straightened out, then on to yet another line for the bus. That line went pretty fast and we were on our way. Our girls loved the bus ride. We loved not lugging our luggage around. The line for check in wasn’t too bad. Our room was ready – woo-hoo ! Luv that !

Weird experience ahead – we get to our room and there’s a man in there steam cleaning the carpets ? Um, hello – do they not know you cannot send a family to their room before official check-in time to find someone in there. He was as surprised as we were. We checked out our room and went to check out the resort. First stop – Storm A Long bay. Looked very cool. Not too crowded.

Our friends arrived about an hour after us. We met them in the lobby and went to our room. Guess what ? Our carpets were immaculate and our luggage was there! The carpet guy was just finishing up. The carpets were practically dry except for spot near the door.

Our gang ended up with the Queen bed /& sofa bed bedroom. It was a good sized bedroom – bigger then the master bedroom. We had a nice changing / double sink area, 2 suitcase rack thingy’s and a decent sized closet. We were pleased with the size of the Villa.

Since we would be here for 8 days, we decided to order groceries. We used Wegoshop.com. Great service. We bought way too much food, but what the heck “we were on vacation!”

We headed over to Epcot and could not believe the walk (or lack of). It took no time at all. We walked around for a bit and checked in for our 6:00 pm ADR at Chefs De France. Got a neat shot of the girls in front of the fountain.

Dinner was excellent. Since this was our anniversary week, I had a Mickey shaped cake waiting for us (at least I hoped Disney came thru for me) at the Villa. Dinner was nice and relaxing and free (free dining !!!!) except for the alcohol of course. It was time to order dessert and I said ‘we’ (hubby and I) were way too full. Let’s get out of here and try to get the girls to bed early. I was anxious to see our Mickey cake and didn’t want everyone to not have room for the cake.

Hubby “I’m not too full and I would like to get the Creme brulee a l'ancienne”.

Me “Well I am full and I really want to get the girls back to the room”.

I really should have thought this one out more ahead of time. I know husman loves dessert. Not only dessert, but DiSney Dessert. Not only that – but FREE DISNEY DESSERT. I don’t know how, but we did not get dessert there. We paid a whole lot of money for all of the wine we consumed and left a great tip. We headed back to our Villa.

Disney of course came through for me ! Waiting on our table was a mickey shaped cake with plates, forks, and napkins. Husman was very surprised. The girls thought it was the neatest cake they had ever seen!

Off to bed for day 2 (Magic Kingdom)

Great start - cake is adorable!

I think it's very funny that we both finally got on the ball and posted our September trip reports today within 12 minutes of each other!

That is funny ! I've been thinking about putting together my report for awhile - just started it today. Off to read your report . . .
