4/8/13 - Wonder 5 night Western - who's in?

Hi, everyone,

While perusing various sites/boards about FEs, I've run across multiple people talking about doing a "cabin gift" as part of the FEE. Since this is our first time, I want to clarify if we're doing individual gifts AND cabin gifts, or just individual.

We'll be at the first meet-up on Monday -- may not make it to the second but we'll definitely be on board early.

We're driving down from Atlanta Friday (spending the night in LBV) and spending the weekend with my husband's family in Miami.

In Grand Cayman, we're doing the dolphin encounter and in Cozumel we're doing the Mayan ruins/beach.

We're so excited! So much to do before Friday, though. My kids were excited to get $25 Disney gift cards to use, and they have some from birthdays, etc.

As far as Cabin gifts and/or individual gifts - it's totally up to you - some do only a cabin gift, some do only individual gifts, some do both. There are no rules.

I'll pm you my kiddos names - I'm happy to have you guys know them, but I don't post them on public boards :goodvibes

8 days!!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Time to finish last minute items and then it's time to start packing.. leaving Friday evening and I feel like I'm running 2 days behind schedule....

1 week!!!!!!! Just think about how excited all of us will be one week from right now as we're packing up everything in our hotel rooms and heading down to breakfast before making the trek to the terminal!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

See you all next week!

Ditto to what she said. We're doing cabin gifts and then individual gifts for the kiddos, but you can do whatever you want.

I'll be posting a final roll call soon, based on all the info I have. Chances are, folks may chime in and add stuff, in which case, I'll post a FINAL final roll call later in the week. ;)

Thanks but what is the roll call for? We're from Canada and its our first cruise. Great info though and hope to meet all of you. Juvy

Happy April's Fools Day!!!!!

Can't believe that 1 week from today we'll be on the Wonder!!!!! thanks for the updated Roll Call information....

7 days and counting.....

:sail::sail::sail::sail::sail::sail::sail:

Looking forward to meeting everyone next week.....

Its just a list of all of us here on this cruise group. We're hoping to put faces to Dis-names at our meets.

Glad I could help with the parking info. Weird about the luggage tags, though. I wonder what their cutoff date is for mailing the stuff out?

11 DAYS until we board the Mickey Boat! :cool1:

I called DCL about the luggage tags this morning because I also thought it was weird - didn't sound like Disney. They said they were sent and they were waiting for me when I got home tonight - they sent them UPS. So now we can drop off our bags curbside like normal folks. :cheer2:

Since we've been to Grand Cayman before and experience Stingray City - we've decided to do just the regular Island tour which is about 2 hrs. This will then allow for more shopping time in Georgetown!

As for Cozumel, it's been a while since we were last there, so we booked the Jeep Exploration tour. Looking forward to seeing the island!:goodvibes

What's everyone else planning on doing?

We've been to Cozumel before so will take a pony cart to the main area and just walk around. Last time we found a lovely restaurant off the beaten path on a 2nd story with a beautiful view. The meal was delicious. As for Cayman, we will probably just walk around and go to the Historical Museum. Since we are from Florida we have tons of beach time, so that is nothing special. As for stingrays, we've been stung by them and have no desire to go see them at Stingray City!

Some people use the term "we" lightly. I have been stung. :crazy2: Twice. Liz is just creeped out by them. :rotfl2:

The DCL reservation specialist was mistaken. We received our cruise docs today along with our luggage tags, via UPS. :cool1: It's a bit ironic that they were sent special priority 3-day delivery... from about 10 miles away.

Oh we are all way excited about the "plane ride to go see Mickey" but I can't help but have that nagging feeling in the back of my mind of Gracie freaking out, driving the rest of the plane nuts or getting sick.

Allow for the possibility that Gracie will have the time of her life, charm the rest of the plane and make everyone smile. Even if your worst fears come to be, you will laugh about it later. You are only 3 once! :furious:

Lots of April 8 birthdays! How fun!

Just for the record, the Wonder is my favorite Disney ship. I haven't been on the Fantasy yet, but I doubt it would change my opinion. The older smaller ships are just more grand than the new big ones. :thumbsup2

We are traveling with friends and they have a sporty 10 year-old boy. I'm pretty sure he's not going to be in Edge. It's our first time, so it will all be new for the kids. Our DD turns 11 in May and I've been on the fence about where she'll be, but I think we're not going to let her be in Edge since her older brother (13) will be in there and she's not great about respecting his personal space. :)

We have been on a few cruises with our kiddies, tweens and teens. I recommend parents encourage their children to at least try the club appropriate to their age group. They are all really fun. Each child is different. Some children "on the cusp" of the higher or lower age group might feel more comfortable with a different group. Say for instance, you have a 12 year old, who really fits in better with the teens, or has an older sibling they love to hang out with, walk them up to the Vibe, talk to the councilors and ask them to make an exception. If it is important, Disney will "make your dreams come true." pixiedust:

My husband George and i are interested in FE group and he is celebrating his birthday. My kids are 12 yrs Gabrielle and Joshua 9 yrs old. We are on stateroom 7010 on 2nd dinner seating. Thanks juvy

The Wonder is my favorite ship so far, too. We were on both the Dream and the Fantasy last year, and while they were both beautiful, they were just too darn big for me. (And my kids - two of them were totally overwhelmed)

And regarding the kids clubs - I totally agree - my oldest is on the cusp. If he hadn't already done the club/lab several times, I would send him there. But he has, and he's more comfortable around older kids than younger kids. We're going to talk to the counselors at the Edge and see what they say. He knows it's not a 100% certainty, but he's sure crossing a lot of fingers ;)

Jessica, thanks for doing this...we are in room 6026 and/or 6024 connected rooms...just 1 FE. our names are Ajeet (DH) and Shruti...thanks..also i am so excited to see folks from akron, OH on the LIST...GO ZIPS!

Thanks and i missed your reply. Prob mickey pool at 230 but if we miss it then it'll be the next day. Thanks juvy

6 days!!!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

We're excited to try a classic ship. We absolutely loved the Dream but I've read tons of good things regarding the classics too. We're booked on the Fantasy already for next year so just need to find a way to get on the Magic too :rotfl:.

Also just found out a coworker has a good friend going on this cruise with a 10yo daughter and 6yo son. Small world sometimes.

I need to find a way to concentrate at work . Too much to get done before we leave......

Thanks for providing your family's names and I'll add them to the cruise roll call. Unfortunately, we closed the FE group a few weeks ago to make sure that everyone participating had enough time to prepare the gifts. However, we'd love to meet you and your family at one of our group meets.
