4.4 Earhquake and World of Color on all night

At least there are warnings which precede the hurricanes and tornadoes, allowing people to get to safety. Unfortunately, we get no such warning here in L.A. before quakes. And a 4.4 that is centered close to where one lives can be very frightening. A far away 4.4 would barely be detectable. But, fortunately, this one today seems to have caused no damage other than some things flying off of shelves - but it sure scared the heck out of me!!:scared1:

I feel your pain! Ever since I was in the Loma Prieda quake (which collapsed a freeway up here) I've been terrified of the slightest little jolt because I never know if it will stop or not. The Loma Prieda one went on forever it seemed to me and I was by myself at home. I couldn't sleep well for months afterwards. Let's hope that 4.4 was a loner!

You actually reminded me to correct myself. I didn't mean to say that only people in L.A. get "no warning" before quakes. I mean that no one in any area gets warning before quakes, whether it be in Chile or Alaska or California or Greece or wherever. But with tornadoes and hurricanes, at least there is a warning. And yes, a little jolt of a 3.0 or a 4.4 could be minimal to someone else living far from the epicenter, but if that 3.0 or 4.4 is right under your house...well, it isn't so minimal!!

When we were there last may, there was a small earthquake. We didnt feel anything. We were waiting in line for nemo, and were wondering why the line was taking so long. Turns out, they had closed all the rides for inspection and started rounding everyone up to go to the middle of the park. So we ended up missing the ride and the firework show because of the commotion. It was our last chance to see it too!
