4/24/2010 Med cruise: Friends, Romans, Countrymen lend me your Ears

My 17 year old son will be joining me on the TA and the Med, so I won't be alone anymore. I am excited, but have tons more to do now! :scared1:

I just hope we can get along for 27 days...we tend to mildly clash alot. LOL :scared1:

I am wondering if this cruise will be full? It looks like the last minute Cat 12 prices have encouraged some more people. Only 50 days until we find out :woohoo: :woohoo:

49 now, yay!

I doubt it. Every category is still available. I think the prices might encourage some that live around that area already at the last minute, but most people that have to travel that far would be booking I woiuld guess at least 30 days away, otherwise airfare would negate any big savings on the cruise. These prices are smart because they are filling cabins otherwise unfilled, but I still don't think the ship will be all that crowded, judging from what is available now.

I'm thinking cabin assignments should be starting in the next few days...I am checking ridiculously too often ;)

Got my cabin assignment; upgraded from 12 to 11, deck 6. Just a few doors down from the TA assigned cabin.

We got ours too! We are in 7543. I can't be happier with the assignment (other then if we would have gotten a verandah, lol)

We are right across the hall from our TA room and right across from the room my mom and the girls are in!!! YIPPEE!

What time do the end boarding if the ship leaves port at 9pm. I was thinking about add a 7 night cruise of the Greek isle, but I would leave the ship in Athens and have to fly to Barcelona the same day!

i was just in and dont' see a room assignment yet for us (we are a Cat 12 GTY). could they be starting with those on TA and doign a back-back with this cruise? not sure how this works as i assume from an earlier posting that it would be obvious to me that a room assignment was given when i look in my reservation. just curious.

I am sure they are just starting to work on them this morning. I was actually thinking that it would start till Monday. I don't think anyone in inventory control works on the weekends so hopefully they get most people assigned today.

Just a side note....It was always say "Cat 12" or whatever CAT you booked but the room number will reflect the upgraded room.

WOOHOO! We got our cabin assignment. The same room as the TA!:banana:

Upgraded from gty 12 to cat 9 for both cruises! I'm thrilled! :woohoo::woohoo:

Awesome! :thumbsup2

So nice not to have to move rooms!!!!!! I keep wanting to pay the upgrade to keep our same room from the TA but it is not worth it. DH and I will just drag our bags into grandma's room and then drag them across the hall once our other room is ready.

Can we put our bags in grandma's room too??:rotfl2:

We have to switch rooms. I know its just three or four doors down but what do we do with bags. I know we are getting off the ship early and spending the day with our adopted niece. She is studying abroad for this semester and is in Murcia.

You can put them in grandma's room too! :thumbsup2

I think when you are switching rooms on a back to back you bring them to guest services and then they will appear at your new room. However I am serious if you want to bring them up a level and leave them in grandma's room. That would not be a problem at all.

I am hoping that you get a new room assignment and they match! :wizard:

Thanks. Always great to have a backup plan.

Good luck with the last shows; the picture of all the sleeping beauties is PRICELESS. princess:princess:

Thank you! I am pretty much in love with that picture right about now! I am so sad to see this all ending tomorrow night!!

It is funny how much slower this thread is then the TA. When assignments came out that thread was lite up light the Rockerfeller Center Christmas Tree! LOL :lmao:

Disney says that boarding ends at 4pm. However, I saw somewhere - I think on the DCL website - that if you arrive after 4pm you can still get on the ship. You will need to go directly to guest services in order to check-in. You may want to contact DCL about what time you absolutely must be on board. The ship may disembark at 9pm - but I'm sure final boarding will be before that.:thumbsup2

I thought I read somewhere that you had to be on for the lifeboat drill?!?!?! And then you could get off and get back on before the ship set sail.

Congratulations for all the cabin assignments!! :jumping1: Exciting!! This means that it's getting closer and all the more real! I don't know whether to be dancing with joy

or scared to death

cause there seems to be still so much to do!

Good Morning All-

Congrats to those of you who have already got your room assignment! Nothing yet for our Cat 12 GTY. I got on-line last night just to confirm how many days we have left, and told DH that we should have our room in the next week. Really hoping we get to try out the split bathrooms as that is a big difference from the other cruise lines we have been on.

Went to the bank yesterday and got a Travel Card with the Euros & Pounds that we need for our trip. We are having a pre-cruise meet with Shushh and her family sunday afternoon.

Getting very excited, pixie dust to everyone still awaiting room assignments!

If you don't want to drag your bags up one deck, you can pull them down the hall to our room - we got our Med assignment today - and a change for the EB TA.

We are no longer next-door neighbors:sad2: We are now in 6569 for the B2B; now I can think about getting out and doing something on Saturday morning; I wasn't looking forward to having to finagle my luggage.

Stephanie's idea that we have to be back for the lifeboat drill around 4 or 5 is what I read somewhere - but how do we know that we're not leaving until 9pm - is that on our itinerary (that I'm too lazy to go find)?
