4/24/2010 Med cruise: Friends, Romans, Countrymen lend me your Ears

Yeah, note to self, make BIGGER fish extender and buy book on Koala and Dingo care :)

What about cockatoos? There are so many of them around and apparently they can be trained to talk. Just need to catch about 12 somehow...

What, I will have to work harder, did you beat me in bejeweled. I need to get on there and check! Don't even think about getting more Valentines than me lol.

:rotfl:Jeanne! have no fear, your record is intact! :rotfl: As for Valentines, what chance do I have against "En Fuego"s like you and Julie!!! What is that anyway? I've been "smoldering" for a while...

Looks like another project for mom!:rotfl:

I see that Cafepress has a 20% site wide sale with the code 20PREZ thru Feb 15th if anyone is interested .

Got DH to the doctor, they gave him a shot in the knee and now he can walk again, but I'm not sure I can trust it to do alot of walking. I'm just kinda frozen with my planning. I might do more DCL excursions now with questionable mobility.[/QUOTE]

Thanks for the code, I'll go check out the prices again.

Hope DH's knee will be ok. Is this the first injection he's had?

They come up with the strangest things. I actually think I'd rather be smoldering than on fire :)

Cockatoos, I'm not sure. Now if you can catch a dozen of them that's great but if they are noisy it will be hard to sneak them through customs and immigration. If we could pass them off as Parrots they would make nice accessories on pirate night!

I had to change from "Friends....Lend Me Your Ears" to incorporate the Vitruvian Mickey; but I think this looks pretty good for name tags. You should be able to see someone's name without having to get in the "personal space."

I like it! I am partial to red though, it is my favourite colour.

We play bejeweled blitz on facebook. I think it is similar to bejeweled 2 but each game only lasts 1 minute.

Personally - since they're relatively small in comparison to some of the other animals that have been mentioned -- I would like a Kookaburra. And besides, anything that is also known as a "laughing *******" will fit into my household just fine :lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Not so funny when they're "laughing" at 5am in the morning as they often tend to do. And once again, they're everywhere!!!! I'll see what I can do...

Gong Xi Fa Cai or Happy Chinese New Year

I know it's early for us, but I'm working tomorrow morning (another 4 hours of teaching English) and we're having company (Arabic teacher and whoever else the kids invited) for our Chinese New Year Party in the afternoon. No, I'm not cooking Chinese, we're ordering out (and breaking Lent). I can make Italian, French, German, Moroccan, Persian, Afghan, anything Middle Eastern, Indian, Mexican, etc, but not Chinese. Go figure. It never comes out like restaurant food.

Welcome to the new people and again, I'll update roll call.

Lanyards look great, Lynne. Still looking for that Aladdin.

Off to bed, have to be at work by 7:45.

Yay Jill, glad you joined the thread!

I'm looking for 2-4 more people to join in with a private group in Naples...Amalfi coast drive with Positano and Sorrento, lunch in a "rael" Italian restaurant (family owned), Pompeii, and the musuem in Naples. Shopping will be mainly items made by locals, so not a ton of shopping, more exploring. Will be a long tour, 9 hours at least. 450 euro divided among the number of people (so far, 4...we can have up to 8). If you are interested, PM me...the guide is highly recommded by many, and I think it will be a wonderful, personalized tour with a lot of information provided by a guide that grew up in the area.

We have the option of a private guide in Pompeii for 100 euro, but we are leaning towards the headsets for 6 euro instead...unless we have 8 people, then we might as well spring for the guide.

We were contemplating many tours by Disney that day...none of them quite met what we wanted out of the day...and we were afraid we'd spend too much time trying to round people up for the next stop.

Erin, do you mind me asking which company you're using in Naples?

Sure! Marcello Maresca, but booked with his associate Marco, not with Marcello. although I do believe we may meet up at lunch with his group. He is booked with someone on the Magic, perhaps you know who? But we were leaning towards Marco anyway so it worked out well.

They have been incredibly prompt and attentive in email. And while I've read a couple of negative reviews, mostly dealing with shopping and that Marcello talks too much...almost all are positive and the ones involving Marco that I've found are all positive. I contacted many guides and companies, but I "like" them the best. He answers me immediately, with detail, and I really like that. He made me feel that he'll do what we want, including the museum and seeing churches in some of the small villages.

THanks for the info! I am a little confused at the moment and not sure if I should change companies. Is that Marco Tavola?

I'm not sure of his last name, actually...I booked the tour through Marcello, and his name is on his website, not Marcos. What tour do you have now?

Can anybody see one as better than the other? I'm thinking the one on the right is a little more balanced top to bottom.

Help!

PS Belinda - I'll make yours with Cinque Terre (in lieu of Florence/Pisa)
