4/14/2012 7-Nights Western Caribbean on the Fantasy

Any and all changes to the list have been made. Thanks everyone!!

So, what port is everyone excited about for this cruise? We have never been to Mexico and I am excited about them all!! I LOVE the water (although, strangely, I can't swim, lol) ... Gabi wants to be a marine biologist when she grows up so she's going to love it. She's an amazing self-taught swimmer and she loves snorkeling as well.

I guess Disney used to go to Costa Maya a while ago and that when we go, we will be at the beginning of them going again so that is exciting. I had been trying to find info on the port and posted in the main boards on it and got a lot of great info if anyone is interested, here is the link. In the thread, there is a link for a tour company that looks like they have a great reputation - I think I am going to book a tour with them on my own.

Here's the link!

If anyone is considering parasailing at CC - I highly recommend it. I've done it twice and it's amazing. So serene and quiet ... just beautiful!!

So, I just read something that is awesome!!!!

I hope it's true!!!!

This is what I found on another thread:

"Brent has been working as the assistant cruise director to Rachel on the Dream.

On the maiden voyage of the Dream, Rachel told us that Brent will be on the Dream, then going on vacation, then going shoreside to work on the Fantasy.

He wil eventually end up in Germany and will be bringing the Fantasy over in March 2012 and will be the cruise director on the Fantasy once she is sailing!"

What??? We love Brent! Well, my daughter and I do, anyways!! :lovestruc LOL That would be totally awesome if this is true!!

I booked last week.:woohoo: It will be me, my DH and my DD 9yo. It will be our first time on a cruise and we are sooooooo excited. We are also from MA.

I wouldn't worry about it. We did the second Dream cruise and mom and I LOVED IT! There were a few hiccups but nothing trip ruining. Actually we laughed about those moments and went on with our fun or simply ignored it. Disney is a company like any other company, not Gods (though as much fun as I have at WDW and on the boats, I feel like I should give thanks to the Mouse all the time). :worship:

Most of the problems I saw were actually caused by the "guests". A guest mad because the sushi wasn't being offered in Cabanas on the day they were there. A guest mad because the didn't have a working scanner at the gift shop on deck 11. Oh the horror that they had to write the ticket out manually. :sad2:

Our trip is either the second or third trip of the Fantasy. There may be some issues but seriously, I just wouldn't worry about it spoiling your trip. The cast members will do everything within their power to make sure you have a fab time!
You are so right. We had been at Disney World so many times and had read awful reviews of places we love. I think everything will depend tot he guest. We have hight expectations but Disney is not perfect.

Just booked the cruise for April 14, 2012. Can't wait. It will be me, DH, DD (16 three weeks away from 17), DS (15) and DS (11). Category 4A on deck 10....hopefully not too much noise from deck 11.

Would love to do the fish extenders.

Thank you for the welcome. My DD's bday is May 5 - how about yours? I would have liked my DD to bring a friend but we would've had to get another room. This is the first time we are doing the family stateroom that holds 5.

Hope to meet you on the cruise!

We are from CT - going to be a lot of New Englanders on this cruise!!!

I've added you to our cruise meet list ... it's located on page 8 in post #116. If you would like me to add names or anything else, please let me know!!

Isn't it so sad how even when you are on a disney cruise, you still get those people who just insist on being so intense all the time?

I remember one time at Disney when this parent was getting so anygry that their child was hot, cranky, sweaty and crying at high noon in Magic Kingdom in late April and I was just like, "hey, it's the happiest place on Earth, remember?" Take the kid back to the hotel and let them diffuse for a while. It's all what you make it and I intend on making it everything that I possibly can!!!

:welcome: to both of you!!!

Nice to have MORE New Englanders on our thread!!!

Please review post #116 on page 8 - we are keeping a running list of everyone on our cruise who is on this meet. You can either post or PM me your relative info and we can get everyone updated with your family.

Mass-cateer, I also have a daughter who will be 14 on the cruise. I have been on meets where kids have exchanged email addresses so that they can become friends and get to know each other before the cruise so if anyone is interested, my daughter Gabi would enjoy doing that again.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys!!

Gail, we were on the deck below the top (oh my can't remember what # now) on a 10 night southern on the wonder. We did not hear any noise from the top deck when we were in the room, but yes, I did hear chairs scraping on floor etc on the deck. It wasn't a lot, but occasionally.

My DS will be 10.5 and we are on same deck/same category!

Mugsy: I'll have a 10 year old and a 5 year old on the cruise (and another turning 3 on 4/16).

I just booked this cruise for my daughter's (17) last "spring break with Mom"/Happy High School Graduation gift. Her best friend (17) will also be with us. My daughter could pick any trip and the Fantasy was her first choice. We did the Disney Wonder when she was in 3rd grade and loved it. The teens can't wait to hit the teen club and I can't wait to hit the adult area/spa. We live in the snow belt of NY State (187 inches so far this fall/winter/spring) so we are already counting the days to next Spring Break. We are huge Disney fans and have shared many special times in WDW. Can't wait!!!!!!

Well, you can add another New England family to the list (taking advantage of April vacation as well)!!
It will be me, DH and DD10.
We plan on telling her for Christmas!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:
Looking at maybe Paradise Beach or Nachi Cocom for Cozumel and would love to swim with the dolphins/turtle farm in Grand Cayman. Anyone have any experience or thoughts on these?
