4/14/2012 7-Nights Western Caribbean on the Fantasy

How do you see the name of the hotel? I thought they didn't tell you the name ... or did you book it already?

I see a 3 star for $65 and a 2 1/2 star for $54.

Also, which hotel are you referring to? The oceanfront one? I see one on Hendry Ave and one on North Atlantic.

You can't see the name until you purchase, but if you check www.betterbidding.com the 3 star for $65.00 with the amenities of oceanfront, breakfast and pool match those of the La Quinta Oceanfront from the pinned hotel list for hotwire/Cocoa Beach. Definitely go for the Oceanfront one, it gets the best reviews on trip advisor. I just think it is too soon to book something that cannot be cancelled this far out (plus we don't even have our airfare yet). Read the reviews, look at the pictures and see what you think.

We've stayed at the Residence Inn both times and will be going there again. We get a 2 room suite and split the cost with my parents. It comes out about even doing that vs paying for 2 rooms elsewhere. Plus I get my Marriott points!

Jetblue fares have gone WAY DOWN since I originally checked ... I will be booking the airfare today. I can get 4 people roundtrip, nonstop from LaGuardia for $940! That's the cheapest EVER. My husband is a fan of convenience over price most of the time and loves going in and out of Westchester airport (as do I) but in this instance, it's $364 or $280 more expensive to do so depending on the flight we go out on so I'm thinking we will not be going out of Westchester since the difference is so expensive.

JetBlue is killing us flying out of BOS-Logan. I suggested to DH to fly out of JFK (much better prices for non-stops and better flight times) but he is all for convenience. I HATE spending a lot of $$ on airfare. He just tells me to book it, I think he thinks we have a money tree in our back yard!

They are crazy prices coming out of Logan, and coming back. I'm glad I took that flight back when I did because it's gone now! Now I'm stressing about the flight out! Wish Southwest would just release already!!

Look at the Jet Blue out of Tampa 2:50 PM to Boston it is still failry reasonable!

You will be waiting untill October as they are only releasing through April 9th on September 5th!

I did book our flight home from MCO for $200pp on the 22nd. it's the flight OUT of Boston I'm waiting for Southwest on. Hoping I can get the same price or close. With my gift certificate, that would be only about $300 I'd pay out of pocket for the 4 of us for a flight home. Crossing my fingers!

That definitely makes sense. We love that place. For us staying 2 nights this time, it just doesn't make sense.

Nice to meet you!! I see this is your first post ... are you the child of someone already on our thread or are you new to our cruise meet?

Be sure to check out the link in my signature and that shows the entire list of everyone who is going on the cruise with the ages of all of the kids. I know off the bat there are two girls coming from Australia that are 18 and 16.

My daughter is a 9th grader but she will be in the teen club for sure. It will be nice to have a meet up at some point so that all of the kids can meet each other and know who they all are when they see each other.

Costa Maya is listed as a Port ... but there are no excursions listed yet. If you go to the top of the disney cruise website, click on Cruises and Destinations ... then click Caribbean ... then on the lower right hand side you will see Ports of Call ... if you click that, Costa Maya will come up with travel info and basic info on the port.

Disney used to go there before the hurricane years ago. They do not currently go there now but will begin to again soon obviously. When I called them they said that excursions will be listed 5 or 6 months before they begin sailing to a new destination so we need to look for them later in the fall.

I'll have my two sons with me. Kyle will be 17 and Nathan will be 15, and will be in the teen club. They really enjoyed it on the Wonder last year.

Well, we finally bit the bullet and bought our airfare. I won't say what I think of JetBlue right here because their could be kids reading these boards but my oh my, it will take a LOT for me to fly them again. The flights were slowly but surely creeping up ... so we took the least expensive one on the days we wanted to travel. I went back less than 12 hours later and the return fare for a different flight (a more convenient flight time for us) had dropped over $400 for 4 people ... so I called them and explained that all of the flight times were the same just barely 12 hours earlier and that I would have chosen that one had the price been better but they refused to do anything. So we could have changed it but at $100 change fee per ticket, it would have been stupid to just hand that money back to them for almost no reason.

It is exciting to hear about changes that are being made to the Fantasy ... just can't wait to hear what they are. Hope the pools are somehow made a bit bigger. My kids love the water (I just love laying out getting sun). The good thing is that we don't have many "at sea" days ... 4 days in ports should really make overcrowded pools seem less of a strain.

I know, it's exciting to think that maybe they learned from the Dream & are tweaking the Fantasy for us, but even if it's exactly the same.....I'll be happy just to be on it & on VACATION! It's been a rough year for us w/ deaths in the family happening really close together & somewhat unexpectedly. We need this trip...BIG time! Camt believe summer is almost over. We'll be stuffing the stockings & hanging the Christmas lights before you know it.

Hello everyone - Just off the Dream today it was amazing!! Yes the pools were small. I hope that is one of the changes for the Fantasy. But honestly I never had a problem finding a chair by the pool and our cruise was sold out with 1100 kids! There were a lot of people who went up at 7:30 am and put towels and never came back till 10, and really Disney never moved there belongings. Never had any problems findng seats to the show and only showed up 15-20 minutes early. The kids clubs were great, the food was amazing the best I have had on any ship and the service was top notch!!! Had a fun time doing the FE got a lot of good ideas for our April cruise. The adult pool was also small and very crowded. Did not want to get off today but the kids are already counting down for April! Now the drive home, it never seems that long to get there but the drive home is extra long.

Just wondering, since many of us are on the east coast, how's Irene treating everyone? We have a lot of wind in S. East MA now, but not much rain. SIL was suppose to fly out of Logan back to UK tonight & flight was cancelled. Now she can't get home til Sept. 5th!!! Our lights keep flickering so expecting power to go any minute. Hope everyone stays safe.

So far we have had worse Northeaster's in the past year or 2!
