.....................

I don't think the price of gas will stop me from going where I want to go but I will try to get more done while I'm already en route to somewhere else. ie: stop at the post office on the way to pick up kids at school etc. I think it will just make me be more efficient in getting my errands done so I won't be doing any unnecessary driving.

I think I would most likely keep doing what needs to be done and go where we want to go.. but like wdwnutz - probably not make extra or inefficient trips. Sometimes we just jump in the car on the weekend and drive to someplace close by to explore and get away. We may think twice about doing that - but I bet we keep on doing it for the most part.

I rarely drive my car except for to work. Everything is within walking distance of my house, so its not unusual for me to have a full tank of gas last me about 2 weeks. I'll continue doing as I have always done.

In another thread about the cost of gasoline, some of our California DIS'ers were saying gas is already up to $2.00 a gallon where they live. Its $1.80 or so here in D.C., I guess its only a matter of time before it goes here as well.

Mid-grade and high-grade are already over $2.00 here. Regular unleaded is $1.85-$1.90. Gas prices always rise in the spring when they change production and the Mobil fire in NY yesterday will have some negative effect on the gas prices as well so I'm guessing regular will be over $2.00 before long.

As our European friends have said, we have been getting our gas at a bargain compared to what they pay. It's something we've got to have....and I don't think there's much I can do that saves more than a few cents (like running to the cheapest station).

Well, that just makes the deal I made with my brother extra sweet! I use my personal van for work purposes (deliveries, merchandise pick-ups) and he gave me a Sunoco credit card and I buy all my gas with it. Up 'till now this deal has been costing him about $50.00 a month. A real bargain since the van he used to lease for this purpose was about $600.00 a month, including insurance.

Saw this on a forum I participate in elsewhere. I think it'll be good for a laugh:

I paid $1.69 per gallon yesterday, so guess that's cheap compared to others. A couple summers ago, we paid more than $2 per gallon, probably will be up there again soon. We have a trip planned up north in August, hope it's not quite so expensive then. We'll still go though. Thankfully my job is only 6 miles from where I live, so at least I don't have a long drive to use up a lot of gas so I do appreciate that. And I usually only go into town once or twice a week so I probably won't change my driving habits much as gas gets more expensive.

ROTF Mark!!! Ain't that the truth!! ;) :teeth:

Seriously. . it's a $1.48 here so I guess we're way on the low end. . .

I'll definitely limit my driving to necessities; and as a personal mini-boycott. . .

Because the gas we buy today was purchased by the oil companies 6 months ago, they are just using recent events/tensions as an excuse to do some price gouging. . .

I only do the necessary driving as it is. Hmmm...might be a good time to move closer to our schools. We're ten miles away right now.

YIKES! I think as the price continues to rise that I will be a little more careful of planning my errands more efficiantly.

the mid and premium grades have been over $2 for awhile here in MD. :(

we don't really make unneccesary trips to begin with; to help with the extra cost of gas, we've just cut back on other spending.

It's at times like these that I'm glad that I drive a small car.

DH is in the oil industry and he claims that other factors besides the war threat are contributing to the gas price increases. It just makes me wonder what would happen if war actually broke out though. :(

I heard on another newscast that prices may hit $2 a gallon on their way to $3 by mid summer. It's going to be an expensive drive to/from WDW this June.
