I normally only read and enjoy posts on the CB and very rarely start a thread....so this is really new to me!:teeth: But I know the nice people on these boards are always full of great ideas.::yes::

My DB and his wife will celebrate 30 years of marriage next week on the 21st. We are having a nice dinner for them on the 25th but I would love to get some ideas as to what to give them. They have just about everything! I'm not good at coming up with ideas, but I thought I'd ask here and hope to get some really unique kind of special gift to give them as they are a really special couple.:D I thought of flowers but that's always given at these times and I would really like something nicer than an arrangement.

So thanks all in advance for your help!:sunny:

do you have pictures of them and their family over the years and are you handy enough to put them on the computer and make them a book from mypublisher.com? I ahve given this as a gift to 3 people in the past year and all 3 have told me it was the best gift they ever got!!

If you want to do it - I can e-mail you a $20 off coupon - you could essentially do the book for free.

For my DH's grandmother, I had the immediate family: sons and daughters, their children and their children write something memorable about DG and DGF. I used crimping scissors and the computer to write up their memories. Then I bought a big, neat candy jar and scrolled and ribbon tied the memories . It was a hit and she had so much fun reading how the family loved her and her husband.

Hope this made sense...

Thanks for the suggestions! Both of your ideas sound so nice but we have a very small family and my DB and I were raised apart and had not seen each other for over 25 years, when we were reunited after my father's death 7 years ago. We didn't get to grow up with one another (long story:( ) but that's now all changed and we enjoy a fantastic relationship!:sunny: They have no children and I'm his only sibling.

I don't have many photos of him at all.....but I have tons now since we have been reunited.:D

Would love to hear other's ideas?::yes::

Tickets to some "Broadway" shows in Toronto. Yeah, I think they would have everything, so you are probably better off giving them a opportunity to spend a night on the town. Any dinner cruises available?

I thought of tickets to a show but they see all the shows in TO as they live in Mississauga and they even have season's tickets to StageWest Dinner Theatre (if you've ever heard of that place?it's great!)

LOL For the dinner cruise as we took them on one just this past July for a birthday gift for my sister-in-law! lol:teeth:

Now you can understand why I'm in a fix as to what to give them!::yes:: ;)

***bump*** anyone else have ideas? :D
