30 Days for Online Check-in and Royal Gathering

As the Royal Gathering is returning for cruises in "mid-July", we should be expecting data points soon for cruisers who are both completing online check-in and selecting a Royal Gathering time at 30 days.

Disney hasn't released a ton of info on this, but the language indicates that guests have to be paid in full. It doesn't say anything about having to be checked in.

What are our guesses here? Given how long online check-in can take, I'm wondering if it would make more sense to grab Royal Gathering first before you start all the data entry for the family. Or, have Hubby get a Royal Gathering slot while I'm uploading passport photos, etc to get a good PAT. Unless we're assuming this will be locked until online check-in is completed, in which case it becomes one more reason to rush...

For comparison, the Star Wars Day at Sea character meets also opened at 30 days out and they were just additional choices in My Plans. They weren't connected to online check-in.

When kids club reservations at 30 days were a thing, you could book them under onboard activities before checking in. I doubt Disney even has a way to link activity reservations to completion of online check in.

Perfect, thank you! I'm going to assume this is the same and plan to do those reservations first before moving on to check-in. (Or, see how much I want to annoy Hubby to do double duty LOL.)
