Our kids will be 6, 5 & 2 (Almost 3) on our trip in a few months. Our 2 year old is 39” now, so he will be able to ride some of the lower height restriction rides for the first time. I remember reading somewhere that kids need to be 7 to ride in their own row without an adult. In the past if when I’ve taken the older 2 on a ride by myself, my oldest would get seated with an adult in another odd numbered group, but that was obviously a pre-COVID time. I’m curious how this will work now for the few rides that all 3 kids can ride, but are only 2 to a seat. Is a double child swap a thing? Can we all wait in line together and just switch kids on the ride each time? I’m thinking the only rides we’ll run into this issue with will be Barnstormer, 7DMT & SDD. I’d appreciate hearing how riding these rides will work if anyone has a similar experience to share!

I believe it works that the kids have to be in the same vehicle, not row, as the parent. So, if you look at the pictures of 7DMT and SDD, there are 2 rows per vehicle. So, for 7DMT and SDD, in one vehicle with 2 rows, you could do the 2 oldest children with a parent behind and then in a separate vehicle the other parent with the youngest. I do not think this will work for Barnstormer as each row is a separate vehicle.

I know that when I took my 4 year old niece and nephew on Triceratops Spin at AK, this is what they had us do, except for there, they made me sit in front of them.

I didn't realize the rule was the same ride vehicle and not the same row. Luckily this should be the only trip with all 3 under 7, but I'm glad it sounds do able for most rides!

We were told that if kids under 7 can't sit in the same row as the adult, they must sit IN FRONT so the adult can easily see them during the ride.

That is why it was odd that they made me sit in front of the kids on Triceratops Spin.
