3 Years in the Making: Our return to WDW...with diapers! SAD NEWS 7/1 page 41

That's a really great family picture of you with Minnie. The food at Cape May looks so good. When we went to there for dinner I ate about three shrimp because I was so sick. I was totally bummed.

So glad you got your wallet back. When DH and I went for our first anniversary, I left my camera on Buzz. We went back three times to check for it, waited for the ride to make a whole rotation to look in all the seats, checked with guest services before we left, and nothing. The next morning we checked again and someone turned it in. Neither of us could believe how lucky we go. There are good people out there.

I wanted to let you know that we booked the same condo that you did for your Christmas trip. I am so excited because it makes the trip real. I told Frank that you recommended his condo and he said to tell you Thank you and that he hopes you are doing well. Thanks for all your help!

Fantastic pictures from Cape May! The one with Minnie is awesome! What a great smile!

Hey Dawn, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I love Seth's Christmas pictures not only because he's so adorable but because they're just the epitome of a little boy...not wanting to stay in one place for too long!

CMC breakfast looks really yummy!! People all flock to Chef Mickey's but I'd much rather hit up CMC and see the characters in their beach gear with less crowds!

Wow, there are some good people in the world! I'm so happy to hear you found your wallet :thumbsup2

All caught up :) That Cape May breakfast looks great - I'm going to keep that in my memory for our next trip :) So glad you got your wallet back. I had a similar moment on our trip with Maddie's ticket

Well, I thought it was appropriate - it was a FEAST! I love Cape May! I've never been for breakfast, but their dinner buffet is awesome too! You got some great character pictures!

Have a GREAT Thanksgiving!

We had a dinner at Cape May too but you'll have to wait to see what happens with that.....:rolleyes1

so weird about the chinese menu...so much for the guards at the front gate. That picture of the three of you and Minnie is the best!!! I enjoyed staying at the Beach Club for that character meal - breakfast and dinner!
So scary about your wallet - that goodness you found it and fast too!

Yeah, I guess one of the guards dropped the ball! Thanks - I like that picture too.

Love :lovestruc Seth's reaction to the characters...his smile is worth the cost of the trip! (Easy for me to say, huh? :rotfl2:)

And after your experience at Kouzzina, hooray for GOOD Disney food! :thumbsup2

Happy Turkey Day!

I was so happy he liked them! And I agree about his smile. :goodvibes

Oh Dawn I know how you feel about losing a wallet! I left my Pocketbook (over 6 credut cards and 2000 in cash) at the Gorilla viewing area once. I was feeding my son at the time he was just 10 months. I did not realize until we got to Tusker House. My husband ran through the park like Mike Brady on the Brady Bunch episode when they switched posters lol..needless to say it was right at Customer Relations Desk because an honest diser found it! AMEN!

The pic of the three of you is gorgeous! Seth is smiling so beautifully..bless his lil soul

So glad you found your purse. It seems like you hear stories of people finding lost things at Disney more often than at other places. I think it's a combination of their lost-and-found system and honest people (maybe a little bit of Disney magic too) that's to credit for these positive experiences.

Thanks - I like that picture too!

I have done Cape May for dinner but need to find a time to get breakfast in.

The lost wallet. Holy cow I hada similar episode with just a credit card. It really was the cashiers fault ( OK and mine to for not double checking). I see that almost everyone has teh habit of handing you the receipt and the card back at the same time. I had my receipt but she never handed my card back. That should be coming up soon in my TR.

I think you'd like the breakfast. It wasn't crazy and the food was yummy, and of course the characters were great. I hope you got your credit card back! :scared1:

What a great picture! I am so glad Seth took to the characters. It makes it so much easier for picture-taking. Brooklynn was not afraid or hesitant, either. We didn't have to do the coaxing with her that we have had to do with Bella. We're hoping this coming trip is the one that sees Bella doing things a lot easier.

Cape May breakfast is so good! We had great character fun, too, and it's a 'do again' for us, as well. We're trying to get to every place once, though, or at least almost every place. We repeat some, but when you do that too much, then you can't get new places in. It's tough. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your guys!

Well, who knows if he will continue to like them or not. I've heard people say their kids loved them as a baby but didn't like them at 2-3 years old and then started liking them again. You just never know with kids! He will be 2.5 when we go back so we shall see! I really hope Bella takes to the characters this time, for everyone's sake! I know how fun it is to watch them enjoy that for everyone and also how fun it is for her when she's not stressed about it and enjoying herself.

Even though our next trip is pretty far off, Cape May breakfast is on my list of possibilities. We really enjoyed it.

Glad to see Seth loving the characters! I understand when you say you would cry if he cried. I'm the same way. You want them to feel the "magic" too. :)

Yep, exactly! So glad he did. :)

Hi Dawn! Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful! Looks like a great Breakfast at Cape May! I'm so happy Seth liked the Characters - good DIS baby!:goodvibes

It's so great some honest person turned in your wallet!:thumbsup2 Nice to hear there are still good people around!

Me too....I wanted him to have fun and for us to have fun watching him interact with them. And bless that honest person...they made my day!

I agree about the look on Santas face-that picture is priceless!
Glad Seth was good with the characters. I love the family pic of y'all with Minnie. It is adorable!

Thanks! I was so glad too. And I love that picture.

Seth's Santa pictures are funny! We haven't taken Lily to see Santa yet. Last year she was still too young (well in my opinion because I'm a germaphob! Of course had to let a lot of that go when she started putting EVERYTHING in her mouth! Lol!) the picture of your family with Minnie is awesome! Seth's smile is so genuine like I'm at WDW and I couldn't be happier! Can't wait to read more!

Thanks! We took him last year when he was almost 3 months old - he didn't really react but he did poop while he was sitting on Santa's lap. :lmao:

Great update. Seth does so good with the characters. I love the family picture with Minnie. It is awesome.

I was so happy he liked them! And I love that picture too.

Love the Santa Pictures!!

The door noise would have scared me too!! Fun update!

Thanks! It scared me to death! I was so mad.

Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving, Dawn! Seth grinning at the characters makes me smile pretty big, too! So glad he liked them! :goodvibes

You too! Glad his smile is contagious. :)

Thanks! I like that picture too. So glad you got your camera back. It really amazes me that this does happen a lot at Disney....it's magic!

I wanted to let you know that we booked the same condo that you did for your Christmas trip. I am so excited because it makes the trip real. I told Frank that you recommended his condo and he said to tell you Thank you and that he hopes you are doing well. Thanks for all your help!

Awesome! I think you'll like it. We did. The only problem we had was something was wrong with the cable box and we didn't get all the channels. But honestly we weren't at the condo very much anyway so it didn't matter. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. And very close to WDW.

Fantastic pictures from Cape May! The one with Minnie is awesome! What a great smile!

Thanks!

You too! He's SUCH a boy....into something all the time but super cute while he's doing it. His temper is starting to show and I'm having to let him throw his fits without reacting. I know he's testing me to see what he can get away with and I just don't react to it b/c I don't want him to think screaming and crying over nothing will get a reaction. It's hard!

Oh, I agree about Chef Mickey's - I've never eaten there and I don't have any desire to. I'd rather to go Tusker or Cape May.

All caught up :) That Cape May breakfast looks great - I'm going to keep that in my memory for our next trip :) So glad you got your wallet back. I had a similar moment on our trip with Maddie's ticket

It was really good....lots of fun and good food!

Hello! Hope all my American disfriends had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Okay, so when I last updated we had just finished breakfast at Cape May and some kind soul who I will be eternally grateful for had returned my lost wallet.

We decided we wanted to head back to WL to get settled into the room and let Seth have a break before we headed to DHS. Not even 5 minutes after we pulled out of the Beach Club did I turn around and see Seth snoozing. I guess meeting your first Disney characters takes a lot out of a little guy. :goodvibes

Ray drops me and Seth off at the entrance and I put him in the stroller, hoping he'll stay asleep. Of course he doesn't. We venture off to find our room while Ray parks the car and brings up the first of MANY loads. Have I mentioned how amazing it is that one little person requires so much stuff?

I took these while heading to the room...

IMG_2392.jpg

I thought the "THIS WAY" signs were cute....

IMG_2393.jpg

I found the hallway our room was located in and I walked and walked....and walked....and walked......AND WALKED. Good gracious, that was a long hallway. We were the VERY LAST room on the right.

IMG_2394.jpg

I took a picture later on in the trip of the very long hallway, but I will post it later. And for some odd reason, that hallway was COLD. I mean, frigid! No other area of WL was like that. And even Ray said it was cold, which means it was COLD!!! The man would set our thermostat on 50 if I'd let him!

Our room....

Seth loved the textured walls...he played with them all week!

IMG_2408.jpg

Ray finally made it up with the first load, at which time he told me to call Bell Services b/c he wasn't hauling the rest of it down the long hallway! :rotfl: He headed back down to pull the car up and get Bell Services to load everything on a luggage cart, and I called to make sure they were going to bring our Garden Grocer order up (which, by the way, was accurate and wonderful) and started unpacking. After we got everything unloaded, we collapsed on the bed/couch while Seth played and explored the room.

Meanwhile, Anna and Luke had left the Beach Club....

And headed back to DHS for the day....

(I'm just going to show all her pictures here b/c I don't know what order they really did anything in and it's kinda silly for me to guess!)

Since I had cancelled our Mama Melrose Fantasmic package, I was able to get them an early dinner at Sci-Fi Dine-In Restaurant....

I found out later that their dinner there didn't go so well. Anna said they waited a really long time for a table. And then when they were finally seated the service was less than mediocre. Her burger was cold and overcooked. A manager came around to ask if everything was okay and she told him of the issues. He offered a few things for her (FPs to Star Tours, stuff like that) but the only thing they had left to do was see Fantasmic. So he was able to swing getting her VIP seats to the show, where she wouldn't have to wait so long before showtime. :thumbsup2

Back to WL.....

Our original plan had been to head to DHS that day after breakfast, but as I've learned in the past and as I definitely learned on this trip, sometimes you have to throw your plans out the window. Seth just wasn't down for sleeping that day and we were just too plain tired to get on a bus and go to a park. But we did want to do SOMETHING. So we decided we'd just hop on the boat and go to the Magic Kingdom for a couple of hours. That way we wouldn't have to deal with a bus and the stroller, and we could also introduce Seth to our favorite park a couple days before schedule. :thumbsup2

The one problem with this plan is that I had made arrangements to meet up with my friend Lynda (DisneyFreak92) at DHS that day. She and her family live near Orlando now so coming out to Disney on a weekend is easy for them, and this was a Sunday. I texted her and told her of our change of plans. Luckily, she's a sweetie and she said she and her mom and Avery (her little boy who is only a few weeks older than Seth) would just head to MK for the remainder of the day. :yay:

I think it was around 2:00-ish when we started to head to MK. In the elevator, ready to see Mama's favorite place in the world!

About 5 seconds after I took that last picture I looked down to see this.....

IMG_2413.jpg

 Seriously???

Oh, well. I can't expect too much of him on his first trip. And he hadn't had a "real" nap that day. We had tried to put him down but he wasn't having it in the room. It was then that we figured out he sleeps better in his stroller....I guess b/c there's no temptation to crawl around and play? Every time we'd attempt to nap in the room it wouldn't work. So napping in the stroller it was!

And wouldn't you know it....as we're walking down Main Street I notice people lining up for the parade. Oh, yeah....the parade's at 3:00! I didn't even think about it!

We decided to get a spot where we were standing (which was surprisingly easy that day) and enjoy it. Seth slept through the entire thing. Music blaring and Mickey Mouse 10 feet away and he was snoozing the entire time! I ended up sort of standing in front of the stroller to block the sun, which was blazing that day, from hitting his legs.

Here's some video first....

Watch Anastasia in this one....she cracks me up! :rotfl2:

And here are the pictures Ray took. I love a parade! :goodvibes This was the first time I'd seen it since they changed the costumes and some of the floats. I love the brightly-colored costumes!

Next update: A late lunch/snack at Casey's, Seth's first ride at MK and a dismeet! :thumbsup2

Cape May looks yummy! I'd definitely like to try it sometime. :) I had to giggle about Seth and his napping. Babies sure don't follow our "plans", do they? ;) I love the MK in the fall! So, so pretty!!

I know how you feel about the long hallway at the WL. We were on the top floor all the way at the end of the hallway. When I went on our balcony I could see the pool to at the Villas to the right and Bay Lake to the left.

Great pics !! I always hear mixed reviews about Sci Fi .. which is a shame because it's such a neat place to eat .. but I'm sort of leery about booking an ADR there because of the negative reviews. :(

I remember my guys when they were that little sleeping through parades and firework shows ! Oh well .. he'll grow fast enough and will see his share.

Great report, can't wait to read more !

Good job going with the flow.

Last minute change of plans is not a bad thing.

Great pictures.

I will say I love Anna's expressions with stitch. :lmao:

So glad your wallet was found..........I can't even imagine! That's great that you were able to check into the Villas early...did you like your room (other than it being on the far end)? It looks pretty nice. Chris and I stayed at the WL one year and it was our absolute favorite! :goodvibes Good idea on going with the flow...poor Seth looks like he was wiped out after breakfast. Great parade pics...........looking forward to your next update! :thumbsup2

I've never seen that parade - it looks like lots of fun!!!! It's good you were so willing to go with the flow for Seth's sake - makes life much easier!

Do you not have to fold up strollers on the boat from Wilderness Lodge to MK? I always assumed they'd have to be folded.

Cape May breakfast looks like it was a lot of fun. I'm glad Seth liked the characters. It's always hard when a toddler is scared of them.

Okay, I've tried to quote and post twice and got kicked out, so I'm going to be quick. Seth playing with the wall is so funny! I was thinking, look what you can get him for Christmas - just give him a hunk of drywall and he'll be happy!:rotfl2:

WL is so peaceful - love it! I thought it would be too much like home to feel like vacation, but that is what we loved when we visited - it felt like home :goodvibes

The pic of Luke at the Wishing Well is just precious - he was really concentrating!

All caught up!

Congrats on the 5K! Way to go!!

I love all your pictures - makes me feel like I'm there!! Less than 40 days now!! :)

I'll try to do a better job of keeping up!! :)

I think we had the same room as you last October but on the ground floor...that walk, at the end of the day, was killer. The year before that we had the first room on the left..that was nice!!
